Minecraft (online Lego essentially)

I paid yesterday and got straight on. Hope he gets it sorted soon though!

Have to say, it is brilliant running out to mine when there are creatures around who can kill you! It's a bit of a rush running back home from your pit before nightfall

I've built a house ontop of a mountain so not only do I have to run there at the moment, i have to climb the damn thing!

I need some help finding diamonds. Found some redstone but couldn't mine it.

Also do people have a permanent house or just keep moving?

Hes lost that money then, Paypal are complete dic*s when it comes to limiting accounts and keeping money.

You need and iron or diamond axe.

Diamond is found at the same depth as redstone, but is very rare.
Although if you have a decent cave network you should see it occasionally...

Silly to keep that much money in paypal - if they pull a dirty on him tho I think it would backfire on them badly especially given the size of the community hes built up.

I like the darkness in caves and the flowing water, shame not able to use building blocks in the Minecraft Alpha.

He empties it every week, thats accumulated since the last empty! Things are picking up a bit from somewhere :eek:

Do you have to make a cave network or do they just exist?

I've found caves (or large caverns) but they all come to a dead end and they never go deep enough to reach the diamonds and redstone, or lava infact.

Well I just collected about 150 redstones from a massive massive deep ass cave and then died because I rerouted some lava into my path :mad:

And I just discovered that i've lost it all in the lava!

Don't **** with lava guys.

OMG how complicated!

I hope we will still have server where we can build like in "Mine craft Classic", one of the fun things is been able to just build stuff.

They exist already, but they take some finding...

Best place to try is inland, in an area with lots of natural caves at the surface (like weirdly deformed mountains with chunks missing from the side etc).
The crazy cave networks should go all the way down (you may have to dig a bit).

I haven't played for a while, but when survival multiplayer is released properly does anyone want to start an OCUK server?

Another question....

I've built a massive tunnel with stairway down to a deep deep cave and i've managed to pick up pretty much everything there is... Do the rocks regenerate or do I have to go and find another cave?

It's pretty annoying as i've built a pretty decent house and the tunnel is just at the back of the house so everything is together.

Once you've mined out any block/placed any block, it will remain so. So yes, you'll have to find another cave system. This won't be too bad if you just look for partial caves into mountains. Use torches or lava towers to find your way back home. Or use minecarts!

You could try strip mining. Basically just dig down in a certain area, and either hope to drop into a cave system, and/or happen across buried materials.
