Minecraft (online Lego essentially)

I heard something about an update, whats coming? Or is there a link for it. Hope the creator doesnt go nuts over complicating it, its too sweet as it is!
 
Yeah you can build beds which automatically also become your spawn point when you sleep in them. Great way to skip the night. Personally I'd prefer an option to turn off day/night cycles altogether but this'll do I suppose :)
 
Personally I'd prefer to do something more with mobs. Once you have a wall up the mobs outside are no longer a problem. They dont even come up ramps to your home. Tbh they should head towards light to find players, but still not be able to go past it or something. Also how do you chaps deal with underground mobs? I went up against a spider with an iron sword and full iron armour but he still almost kicked my ass! They're too fast for bows...
 
I turn them off in single player... they add nothing to the game for me. When I had them turned on I used to kill them by forcing them into an area where I could hit them but they couldn't hit me. Also place loads of lamps about so they don't spawn.

On another note, I finished my bridge :D

The tower was originally going to be twice as tall when I didn't realize there was a height limit :(

What texture packs are recommended? I'm trying to get a few mates into the game but none want to play it cause of the graphics, their loss :/

there you go mate. its a combination of the minecraft advanced texture pack and the shaders mod which enables depth of field, specular shading and bump mapping. it is really heavy on resources if you use the shaders mod as well so beware lol.

Imalsowondering where you all play now the ocuk are down, i run a private one for all my buddies which plods along on the media box downstairs but were all newcomers and would like to join a bigger place :D

willhub's post is quite old. The ocuk server is live and healthy - 15 players online right now.
