Minecraft Thread

Bought this, had 4200pts since Xmas doing nowt so thought I'd try mine craft for the first time.

It's canny, but can't see how I will be playing it beyond a month, there's not enough to do.

Well if the blocks are a meter each and I've heard the maps are 1024x1024x1024 then you would have to traverse half of the map.

After we finished mine we created a nether portal for the other acheivement and the game crashed and we hadn't saved. So now if my friends want to join and use it I've got to complete it again. Keep thinking I've built it far enough and it doesn't give my mate the acheivement.

Same here, I get whys ome people would love it, but it really didn't seem to be my cup of tea.

I couldn't get the bloody furnace to work, I assume you can use wood as the fuel but it just wouldn't work.
 
1024x1024 is quite small, on the PC me and my friends built a road that was 1200 blocks long and 10 blocks wide out of paved tiles, it was hellish, we had to cut through mountains and through underground caverns :p

Use wood as the fuel, then add wood or wooden planks to create charcoal, this can then be used to smelt any of the ore's, but coal will burn for longer. The best thing to use is a bucket of a lava, it burns for ages!
 
done three nights so far. Those creepers are really annoying.

So far all I have to my name is a floating 5 x 5 x 3 high house with a door and a sword with a crfating bench.
 
That's my current project as well, I thought my skyscraper took a while to build but this takes the biscuit. Doesn't help that I'm building it in the sky, but I wanted something that was easily visible because unfortunately the draw distance is such that wandering off with no map/landmarks can be a seriously bad idea.
 
I'm enjoying Minecraft so much! Currently building a lava museum (harder than it sounds!) and have died many a times! I've dug straight down from my house to the very bottom of the world - have one massive ladder!

Anyone up for multiplayer in the near future? Please add me! oO Pav Oo
 
I'll add you, I've only got Rumple on my friends list that actually plays Minecraft and I'm interested in seing some other worlds.
 
Had a fantastic mining session and tour of Wedgie's world.

Wedgie has a huge powered mine cart rail which seemed like a good minute ride around the map! How did you build such a big mine cart structure and skyscraper along with gathering all your resources in the little time that this game has been out?! We should get more people together, it'll be a good laugh!

1600ms points realy come on. their is a lot better games on the market for less. il wait untill it go's in the deal of the week. it will be on sale before xmas
