Minecraft Thread

I guess I've played quite a bit of Minecraft since it was released :o.

The rail took me the longest without a doubt, I didn't realise how long it would take to place each block individually in the sky, I think I finally finished it the session before you joined.

What to do next? :D

Dunno if you closed the session then 5punk3monk3y, either way I got cut off and the session was gone when I tried to reconnect. I'll have to get the mic sorted next time, in a game where you pretty much do what you want it's almost essential. I think that's why I started trying to grief you in the nether, I got frustrated being the mute side of a one way conversation that I thought why don't I block him in and dig out from under his feet :D.

Some good work going on from the couple quick tours I took tonight, interesting how everyone seems to manage to do something completely unique.

bulb66, great world you have there! First time I've been through a Minecraft teleport, shame it was a quick session, but we'll have to do it again sometime soon!

Wedgie, I've been utilising your 'sky-cart' idea to create my own. Not as long as yours, but takes me from one side of the map to the other, very happy with the progress.

Your welcome, my brother phoned with broadband technical problems so had to go and sort it out, lol.

Would be good to arrange a time for a group of us to play?
 
This game is amazing it's so addictive though.

How do I join other peoples games, do they have to be on my friends list first, also anything mined in their world will that carry over to mine?
 
Still don't know what to get this on PC or xbox... I have no friends that have it so that isn't a issue. I prefer console games, but the PC version seems the definitive one!?!?
 
I have to admit I'm trying hard to resist this after playing the trial whilst the MW3 drops downloaded I can see it would be lethal digital crack :p

This is allegedly going to be very well supported and catch up the PC version.

Minecraft prompts change in XBLA update process

Started playing this last night :) Never got around to playing it on the PC Im guessing there's more stuff on the pc version, Bigger map ?

Im really Enjoying it so far, its addictive though :D
 
I turned it on this morning for a quick half hour to finish my house on the mountain..... 4 hours later i'm still building and digging!

That's good news for the xbox version, there are a lot of features missing currently but it will play out in a similar way like the updates did on the PC. Various updates added all sorts of new gameplay elements to the game (EG Enchanting, even the hunger system!) which kept the experience fresh and different.

PC for sure, just for the mods.

take a look at the technic pack and the awesome things you can do with it, that should help you choose :)

also, will the xbox version be limited to 1024x1024 forever? while thats ok for a medium sized single player world its a bit pants for a decent sized multiplayer server with lots of users popping in and out.

please dont take this the wrong way though, i'm not here just to bash the console version, i think its great that console players can play minecraft, but its one of those games where the mods really make it which means its not the greatest on the console

for bigger, read unlimited. if you have a look on youtube the mindcrack server is ridiculously big. its a 3 minute train journey through the nether at maximum speed (theres plenty of booster rails) from spawn to PauseUnpause's base, this equates to a ~24 minute train ride in the normal world

Was playing for a bit this morning (3 hrs, lol) and only have one achievement left to get riding the pig, i actually found 2 saddles but failed both times when trying use them.

Anyway near the end of my play this morning, after extending my house a bit every time i try and sleep mobs keep spawning in my house and attacking me :-(, how can i stop this?
