Mini keyring-sized digital camera/camcorder

Can anyone help, mine arrived about a week ago, seems to charge fine.

When no memory card is in it seems to function fine it turns on, lights flash depending on what button you press. However, once i put a memory card in it (4GB Micr SD HC or 8GB Micro SD HC both formatted to FAT32), the camera will turn on , but do nothing else. The Computer will not pick it up (tried 4 computers).

No matter what i do i cannot get it to function when there is a memory card in, i have tried resetting numerous times.

Anyone have any ideas ? Is it compatible with SD HC cards ? (cards work fine in other devices)

If you are using the usb cable (or socket rather..) that came with the camera, I've heard it can be dodgy - try another if so. Otherwise I'm not sure what is wrong.

Great, will this record while being plugged in to usb ? I have usb in my car and hope I can increase the uptime with that so it can record for more than 2 hours ?

EDIT:

Nvm, bought one now. It's only a tenner if it ends up being rubbish.

Nope it cant record and charge at the same time sadly. You can get a small 3.6v battery that could be wired up to it quite cheap though.

The other thing to consider is the fact to record 2 hours you need 8GB worth of storage.

It wouldnt cost much more to get 2 of the cameras with 4gb cards and swap them on the hour and charge in the car for 45 minutes to swap a 2nd time if you so wished/had enough space. With 2 camera option for the extra few quid you dont have to faff with modding it and you also have a spare cam.. :D

I know, but I thought of using one for security purposes, when I discover a new scratch or dent I wanna see what **** did it.

I guess these things are so cheap I could open it up and indeed just hook up a 3.6v adaptor to it.

I took it out for 5 mins attached to my golf buggy. Uploading to youtube now.
You also get to see a helicopter take off!

OOOOH, great idea, I'm gna try this on my remote controlled helicopter ( if I can find it and if it still works that is).

First I have to wait for delivery from OZ though :(.

Mine arrived a couple of days ago and had taken about 4 weeks to arrive, so those who haven't received theirs yet just be patient!

Press and hold the capture button for a few seconds and it flicks between video and still mode.

Going to have a go at strapping it to my Tamiya Tb01 Rc car . Its pretty fast as Ive bunged a faster motor in and use an 8.4v battery instead of 7.2. I think i'll have to fix it inside looking out thrrough the shell as It usually gets spun a few times.
