Your question was asked and answered above, bud.

You likely can, but it won't look great, apparently.

Why can't there be a way to play with 1440P resolution with native pixels and black bars? :(

I have a 4K screen but can't run some games in 4K, and this annoys me!

e; Dont worry, I've just cracked it by fiddling with GPU settings... :p

how are you finding the 43" KS7500U instead? I am thinking of getting this as a monitor but only issue for me is that I like to have my monitor on very low brightness usually 1 or 2 from the lowest setting. Just wondering if you could test whether you notice flickering on such low setting for brightness?

also being the Samsung panel is a VA how do you find the viewing angles at the edges of the screen when sitting quite close. i would be about 80-90cm away from the screen as my desk is quite small.

thanks
Hi AMDPower
I've had no problems with this one so far :). I'm finding the screen quality to be better with excellent black levels, HDR works properly in films and all the hdmi ports on the breakout box can have uhd colour enabled
If I turn brightness and backlight right down i dont notice any flickering.
I probably sit about the same distance from the screen, (maybe slightly closer when doing desktop work) and have no issues with the viewing angles, the panel has good uniformity.
Hope this helps

This is likely to be a noob question so apologies

I've just bought the Battlebox Titan from OCUK and I'm now looking for a monitor Tonto with it. I've been advised to get a 1440, 144hz, 1ms etc... But I'm wondering if this would also be a consideration?

I'm assuming not but I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks

Tony

It depends what you want really, a large 4K screen is great but the refresh rate is only 60Hz. I think the 1440 144Hz monitor will be a much better option for gaming because you will be able to see more of the PC's performance, the experience will be more fluid.

All I can suggest is trying a 144Hz monitor and then trying a 60Hz 4K monitor and seeing which you prefer. I personally have a 60Hz 4K, but I might be changing it for a 1440P screen soon. :)

Thanks. I assumed as much. The prices for monitors such as the Dell S2716DG are ridiculous and make me want to just send the PC back!

yeah a big one ...

HDR :) although could argue the 6400 is not quite full HDR but its better than none at all

even if you go to the 43 inch 7500 at 750 odd - it seems VERY good value compared to "monitors" when you consider full HDR support including 96% DCI-P3 coverage, 10 bit panel, quantum dot tech etc

find me an equivalent monitor :)

What about in terms of latency/input lag etc? I've never really understood what is good and bad, but someone mentioned 270+ms input lag earlier, which just seems completely appalling? And does it have a DisplayPort supporting 60Hz input..?

I bought my son one of these for Xmas - we immediately got the blue lines thing but thankfully it vanished after 3-4 seconds. It looks absolutely brilliant and I can't see any lag on it in a variety of games. I want one now!

On mine those blue lines seem to be related to the wifi/ethernet, noticed them popping up more when searching for firmware updates etc as well as randomly in dark scenes. I decided to just disable connectivity as I don't need it and haven't seen any since.

AnyhVe this on a desk? And how wide is the desk it's sat on? Just curious as I like the idea of a 40" HDR (albeit 8bit) monitor but I'm not sure if it's going to give me a headache sitting so close to it

I had a 42 inch less than arms-reach with no issues with headaches etc

the ONLY time I did notice something a bit annoying was when turning on first thing in morning with slumbered eyes ... a 40+ inch panel lighting up in front of you is a lot of light ...

by the way - presumably the Samsungs - like my Panasonic when go into sleep you have to manually wake up ? unlike a computer monitor
