Ignoring the trolling....
Just goes to show how bad the UK laws are regarding the workplace.
.
Am guessing you never worked outside all day every day when it's below zeroBecause when outdoors your active for a start and generally people who are working in those kinda conditions, sheds/outdoors, etc. are that type that don't mind the cold.
Someone sitting in an office all day should not be exposed to sub 14-15C.
13 degrees..http://www.hse.gov.uk/contact/faqs/temperature.htm

Any chance you could take breaks in a warm room for 10 minutes out of the hour?
Thanks for the advice guys, still no closer on knowing if the minimum temp still stands but i don't see how both the government and union websites can be wrong so i'm just going to go with it.
To all those who don't seem to comprehend that i don't care about how hard their life was/is ('i worked at minus 300 for 20 years blah blah blah' crowd) the reason we have the benefits we have now in the workplace (4 weeks annual holiday, regular breaks, minimum of 11 hours between shifts, PPE, 6 day working week (max) etc) is because people, workers, stood up for themselves and what the thought was right. I'm not looking for an excuse to skip work, i just want my employer to provide a decent working environment.
and people like you are the reason our motor industry went down the toilet. be thankful that a) you have a job and b) your not being made redundant.
