I'm getting to the stage where the people being offended and then those who are offended by the offendees are turning into one gigantic stew of people and opinions I can barely be bothered to parse anymore.

Well in all honesty if people with silly ideas aren't pulled up on them, there's a chance of them becoming accepted and the new norm. Challenging things doesn't have to mean getting worked up and frothy-mouthed.
I find myself more in despair lately than angry with so much nonsense floating around the news sites.
Or maybe I'm misogynoirtransnonbinaryphobic.

It's just so that the left can put black women higher than white women in the pecking order of identifiable groups who need their affirmative action/positive discrimination. Know your place white women. White women can oppress white men, black women can oppress white men/women, black men can oppress white men/women, black women can oppress black men. If you keep putting minority rights first at the expense of other bigger groups you can easily oppress the majority of any country and look good doing it and meanwhile the people are so divided by identity politics they can't unite to fight back.

Homosexuality is sliding down the victim group status league quite quickly and about half of them are men and thus Teh EVIL. It would be more "progressive" (i.e. regressive) to exclude them from consideration and most "progressive" to explicitly exclude male homosexuals for the heinous sin of being male, include female homosexuals but constantly emphasise that they're a high status group identity because of their sex first and their sexual orientation second. When being "progressive" it's crucial to ensure that you follow the correct hierarchy of group identity status at all times, following the changes every minute of every day, because the whole point of being "progressive" is to support fashionable irrational prejudice and discrimination so you must keep up with the fashion. You can be adequately "progressive" by constantly advocating prejudice and discrimination against "white" men (and calling them "males", since you wouldn't want to give the impression that they're people), but if you want to be correctly "progressive" you have to constantly keep track of every fashionable group identity and their statuses relative to each other.
I think we'd need a better quarantine system than just different countries. Different planets at least. Although I wish they'd all become better people so there'd be no need to quarantine them.
People who are devout in their irrational prejudices only include people in their favoured group identity who are irrationally prejudiced in the same way or are at least compliant enough to not object to that irrational prejudice.
People like that who are politically skilled will use propaganda to misrepresent what they're doing and the most advanced form of that is to use it as a weapon against equality by corrupting and destroying the ideas of equality by corrupting and destroying the words of equality. This is where the "socially progressive" ideology beats other ideologies of irrational prejudice hands down. None of the other strains of the disease have come close to being as successful in fighting equality because they've been too honest about it. The "socially progressive" people have learned a lot from Animal Farm and 1984 by treating them as guides to obtaining power. Control language and you completely control communication and significantly control thought (since conscious thought uses language). You can also use your opponents against themselves by pretending that when they use the older meanings of the words they're actually using your new doubleplusgood blackwhite Newspeak meanings. So, for example, when people talk about being inclusive you can pretend they mean excluding everyone who doesn't have the "right" group identity and support whatever irrational prejudice and discrimination you like. It's a win-win scenario and it's working. The relationship between equality and "socially progressive" ideology is that of a host and a virus that infects it, corrupting the host's cells into virus factories, using them to hide from the host's immune system and then killing them.
I don't think they're all so deluded that they think that what they're doing will have exactly the opposite effect to what they're doing. Some of them are, I think, but it's not plausible that they all are. That degree of collective insanity is not what I would consider as the most likely explanation. I think they're practicing and promoting group identity, segregation and irrational prejudice and discrimination because their goal is to practice and promote group identity, segregation and irrational prejudice and discrimination.
