Missed 5900x boat, wait or go 3600?

3600 price is pretty high right now, it used to be much lower just a few months ago. I'd wait for a sale around black friday / christmas. Personally, I'm waiting until I can get both a 5600x + 6800xt.
 
Everyone says wait. If I had followed the advice I would be staring at a box with no CPU and probably no GFX card. With zero guarntee of that changing before Xmas. Be happy with your decision and get some gaming done over Xmas. Look to upgrade fully when things calm down in feb/March.

I could be in for a long wait for a 5900X from two competitors.
3600 ordered for £180 to collect from tomorrow at 5pm

Whenever a 5900X arrives, i'll sell the 3600 on. At least I will have a working computer this way
 
Caved in and went for a 3600 which was in stock.

I still have the 5600x on order (well pre-order now I guess).

I hope I can shift the 3600 when I get the 5600x.
 
3600 still a great CPU and cheap enough to even keep around as a backup for extra peace of mind after you get the 5000 series.

Upgraded from a 9600k to 9900k but still keeping the 9600k for emergency CPU and GPU replacement so I can keep working.

The difference in night and day compared to an i7 [email protected]. Buttery smoothness in Warzone at last

Also full speed ahead on my NVMe drive now

I have two pre orders and cancelled a bundle that had a 5900X that was coming next week.
Both 5900X are orders that just changed into pre-orders at competitors. High street one turned out they have ran out of stock even though one was allocated to me.
One i'll keep, the other a mate might be having it or someone on here if not (for RRP of course) i'm not a scalper

In the mean time this 3600 is running perfectly. Full OS built and all stuff sorted in a couple of hours. That's not like me, usually something breaks.

I dont have the 3600Mhz RAM Team group 8 pack ripped RAM or 3600 overclocked yet but heard there's not much point with Ryzen CPUs. Maybe i'll look at setting DRAM voltage higher and going 4000Mhz with the same CAS16 timings
 
I ordered at 14:22 on day of release elsewhere and get a queue number of 1332! That was after it was stated to be in stock at the time. I have no hope until well into 2021 of getting one so will either cancel or get something else.
