spoffle, I'm not sure how complaining about a scammer constitutes a public meltdown?

With the whole dramatic way he's going about it and the little quip about keeping away from Acme on the MM because he's saying he understands how that could happen.

Plus, scammers don't usually refund the money than they've "sxammed" which is Acme's point, the other guy still wants to claim it's scamming despite this.

dramatic? if you say so. being an internet douche is one thing but ****ing about with other people's money is a little bit more serious. i naively thought other people might agree with me.

Your response to Acme is dramatic. I never said it's not serious, but it's not a scam if they've been refunded now is it? Plus as I said, declaring that you're going to avoid Acme in the MM is certainly dramatic.

I think Marc just likes to have a moan about people. Seems nearly every post of his (in this thread at least) is about disliking folks lol.

I can't think of one person I dislike on here. Quite a few people I don't agree with all the time but that's what makes a forum, if everyone thought the same the threads would be pretty boring.

(i wonder if I will find out how much Marc dislikes me now too lol)

I think he is probably just a bit exasperated with the "It was just banter" defence. Or at least one that was equally as plebby.

I wonder how many forum members have actually died, and that is the reason they are not posting. Kind of a weird thought.

A couple of years ago I was trying to hunt down members of an old Delta Force gaming clan I was a member of in the late 90s. It was a US based clan and many of them were the same age as me or a bit older. I managed to track down one of the "grown ups" we used to game with and over IRC he was telling me that many joined the Army and Marines after 9/11 (he was ex-Army when we were playing Delta Force). There was a couple from the clan that ended up dead. Same with the Arma clans I've played on. Over the years guys would ship out on deployments and not all of them would come home. The clan I was on had a ROH for all those that died out there and members that ended up dead through suicide (due to PTSD). Many of the guys went into it all starry eyed because of gaming (like America's Army), got a dose of reality after their first tour and were ultimately "**** this ****" and couldn't wait till their contract was up.

Surely you have to be a bit stupid or naive to think real life is anything like a game?

America's Army was/is nothing more than a recruiting tool for the US military and it's the other game that we were playing aside from Delta Force at the time. I remember the feeling from a lot of young guys in the clan at the time after 9/11. Hell, people like Pat Tillman left their multi million dollar football careers to do what they thought was right. Many people were naive and many people were suckered into it.

So if I scam someone then refund them, it was never a scam in the first place?

Tbh he has a point about Acme. I wouldn't rush to do business with a scam apologist :).

If you refund them, how have you scammed them, and why would you do that?

As for being a scam apologist, you do realise that is based on your assertion that it was a scam in the first place.

The point is, stuff happens at times and it doesn't seem like we know what. But it's reasonable to suggest that something could have happened that took precedence. Not to say that it's good and no one should be angry or annoyed but it doesn't make him an apologist. You're starting to sound like hurf durf now.

If i died am sure i'd just stop posting and no one would be the wiser as to what happened as no one else i know in real life knows/cares i post here. My other half just knows this place as that big blue website that i write on and doesn't care about it beyond that.

Wouldn't want a big deal out of it anyway, I believe in an afterlife.

so withholding goods/money for weeks/months on end means nothing to you? i'm glad we've cleared that up. i really don't have anything more to add to that. other people who read this can make their own minds up.

Well it would help if you stopped twisting my words, then arguing against the abortion of a sentence that you've made up.

Before you claim to have not twisted my words, show me where I've said that that means nothing, otherwise stop moaning.
