it's hard to know what to do, because Honda and Hyundai both said to me today....``nobody wants fast cars anymore, they all want small GREEN motors``.

``i can get you the new i30 Turbo, but it'll be to order only, we wont stock them`` ( type R is the same)

i saw some really cheap cars today but nothing over 1.4 litres, i saw a year old Hyundai.....2000 miles...........only £8000, but it was only 1.2 litres.

so if you want to go fast, brand new and small, you're looking at 30 000........or slower with the i30 turbo..and maybe 20 000

what about this Evo? it's old, costs a fortune to service and from these posts something tells me, ``watch out, this car could be trouble``

safest bet looks like the Honda Type R, with me working more Shifts :eek:

Damm! They have increased quiet dramatically then!

i saw an Escort mk2 RS2000............. it was for sale at £75000.........the original Mini Cooper 1300..........£45000.

my Mini Cooper cost £800 :)

No you're not, a Fiesta ST is small and can be had new for 16k.

I wouldn't really class the latest Civic as 'small', or any hatchback in the same category.

That's a myth. Servicing an Evo is not that expensive. Yes, it's every 4500 miles, but every second one is just an oil service.

The main worries I'd have are...
Rust, which this shouldn't have if it's only been in the country a year.
Normal wear and tear on what is a 16 year old car. ie bushes etc

Oh. And the fact it's at least £5k too expensive.

I don't quite understand, there are countless fast cars out there between £1000 to £30,000  .

Pick a budget and ask on here and there will always be several options at any given price point.

i've just seen a really nice 2002 Integra Type R....

i've just taken a look at brand new spare parts for the Evo.....well, it's much cheaper than the Honda Jazz to fix that's for sure....:eek::eek:

starter motor for the Jazz cost £350 to fit, the garage almost refused to do it, too hard to get to.....just saying that's all:cool:

i'd describe the Civic Type R as feeling Heavy and well constructed, real quality, but of course with way over the top styling, it shouts at you......but it does look good after you get used to it.

the R Type looks pig ugly from the side in the photos, the styling of the side panels are a total mess, but in real life it looks great........this is very odd

infact, The Type R looks similar to the Evo 6.....aggressive front end, silly rear spoiler and flared side panels.

conclusion :- if you buy the Type R, only get it in Grey and deffo not the GT version, black wheels, because this car needs toning down .............obviously :D

that Evo has no rust, i've seen the underside, it's almost perfect

Do you actually know what you want ? :p
no and i'm not supposed to, that's why i started this thread :p

that Fiesta ST looks really nice, fairly quick too......you can buy a tune up kit for it as well, which makes it close to a Type R but for MUCH less cash............0-60 in 5.9
http://www.mountune.com/index.php/services/performance-upgrades/fiesta/fiesta-st-2013

all it needs is better wheels and tyres and maybe lowering, so maybe 20 000 with the tune up, but it's not exactly slow without the tune up is it..........so now i'm starting to get somewhere :D:D:D

Unless your buying it purely in the hopes you'll make money it in a few years and keep it dry in storage, I'd be looking at buying an Evo 8 to run as a daily if your set on getting an Evo.

Owning an Evo 6 is a million miles away from a ford siesta...They ain't in the same ball park.

Out of curiosity how old are you?
too old, i'm so old that the Evo only costs 320 quid to insure

but i think the Fiesta is powerful enough for me, i've always wanted an Evo, but i think it's too extreme and attracts too much attention....

i think i'm going to have to take a look at this one next week
