Well kinda but ypu get middle aged business men buying a car and keeping it in storage to use once every blue moon and every so often these cars pop up for sale. Saw the cleanest ever rev 4 mr2 turbo 30k miles or less. Looked completely immaculate. 7 grand i nearly bought it. But went for the house instead.

there is that Evo 8 with only 850 miles in Ireland....but it's 30 grand :eek:http://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...l-show-car-895-miles-1-owner-from-new/2284603

this is priced exactly the same as the Type R, both cars are brand new, the photos of the EVO dont lie

1.......Evo is faster
2.......Evo looks better

the Evo wins easily, that car looks beautiful, i'm so bloody cross that i cant afford it

+1 I have had a few fast cars but my favourite all round drive and most fun was with a Mazda MX5 not fast but fantastic fun to drive.

i would say the best i drove was the Mini Cooper 1300, it definitely had the best road holding, the fastest was the Firebird

the best car i've been in (but not owned) is easy..........JENSON INTERCEPTOR

best car i've seen on the road and the best sounding too, is a Drag race legend............Pinball Wizard, a Ford Pop with a 440 Chrysler and Nitrous. she's still around today.

extremely dangerous to drive, a high centre of gravity and a short narrow wheelbase, i've never seen a car accelerate as fast with such an explosion of sound.

i've just taken a look on the best import sites:-

Evos are selling really fast, or they're imported to order, so i'm going to have to move really quick...

i spoke to an Evo seller on Ebay, i've been chatting to him quite a bit but his car is too expensive for me, he said ``import to order, tell him what you want and wait for the car to come over, if you want a really nice Evo/ no rust....import only``.

Is this a thread about you buying a 5k overpriced evo, a 30K Civic, an integra an 850 mile evo, or just posting that you have driven an interceptor?

The whole thread couldn't be more off topic. Are you actually buying this overpriced evo or no?

i'm just chatting to Moogleys, but the general conversation is Evo based.

this thread is ``mitsubishi evo 6 worth buying ??``.........please note the question marks.

but i do have doubts about the Evo, so i might need to start another thread, because the Type R does have advantages and maybe the biggest is, the Honda dealership is just up the road, this is a big purchase so i have to get it right.

my heart is saying get the Evo, but my brain is telling me ``no, it's too old now and liable to need loads of servicing, get a new car and from a dealership somewhere close by``

WOW she looks FANTASTIC

the interior is spotless, not a mark anywhere, she has brand new tires and the wheels are fantastic too....the exterior is gleaming and the black rubber trim looks brand new, the engine bay is awesome.

the engine sounds fresh and the exhaust sounds great, quite loud, it definitely looks like a genuine 26 000 miles, i dont know who the hell owned this car, but by God it looks good.

the only non standard part is the brand new Stainless exhaust rear section, it looks like about 4'' dia.

the other two Evos he's sold, you should have seen his other cars...racing Porsches and Ferraris..they were around 300 000 quid each

under the carpets she's pristine........underside too.

now the price ? well i offered him a grand less because areas need polishing, plus i've two others to see :-they will deliver the car to me..

this one is also in perfect condition, not on Ebay, it's on the Ralliart forum, it's 530 HP.....but this one is flipping miles away

this one has a full ground up rebuild thread, so its history is well documented...loads of photos.

so it's either one of these two cars, but this 2nd car might be too powerful for me, because it's forged engine totally rebuilt ( 6000 miles ago) can to go right up to 800HP if needed

strangely enough, this 2nd Evo looks as good as the 1st so this is going to be a hard decision, i've just thought of something, this 2nd Evo will be a bitch to insure, it's non-standard

Evos are selling like crazy, they're very popular, he intends to import many more..... this Evo is definitely superior to the R-Type because i've been in both, esp one as fresh as this.............i'm shocked really shocked !!!

Did you not post this yesterday ?

Not sure I see the point of that car as a road car but whatever floats your boat.

i deleted that post because it looked like i was B*******G, but i wasn't, he's already accepted my offer, i just have to choose which one

what you say is true, because this 2nd car is a monster, he wont let me drive it...but i guess it depends how heavy footed you are

Haven't really commented as the others have said much of what needs to be said.

Only thing to add is things get very expensive, very quickly above 500bhp with Evo's. Go in with your eyes open.

yea, the one i saw today is the most sensible

I'd steer clear of the 500+bhp one. That will be an absolute money pit.

I know you're paying top dollar for the other one. But if you can keep it nice and not drive it too much (good luck with that ;) ) then it could potentially appreciate in your ownership.

There's not many good ones left and there's less and less available from Japan every year.

yea i've said no to him an hour ago, he realised anyway.

the engine seems perfect to me and i'm deffo not going to mod it, all i'll do is replace the oil as soon as possible ( it's already been done recently) the belts/cam belt will need doing at about 40 000 miles

i'm getting her mechanically polished by the showroom before she's delivered, but i've also got a budget set aside for a full respray, because the rest of her looks so good that she deserves it.

it just depends how good she looks after polishing.... she's not market at all, she just looks slightly dull with swirly fine scratches..... because you cant expect much else after 16 years.

she paint job looks like an average 7 year old car , if you see what i mean.

You've paid £15,000 for an enormously overpriced Evo on the basis that its 'totally mint' yet it needs a full respray?

This thread feels like a trollthread.

no, use your brains, no 16 year old car will ever a paint job like new, all his cars looked like this......i'm just being very fussy that's all

troll ?..............you're the troll

£15 000 ??......................i'm not paying £15 00 for it ;)

ok.....after loads of thinking i'll offer him less money equal to the price of a respray, because i mentioned the paint finish to him anyway so he knows.

this car isn't mint on the outside, so my offer will reflect this, in addition, it's an import, so we cant be sure about the engine either, especially the cambelt etc, i mentioned this too, so he legged it into the office to try and find out.... this bothered him when he came back !!! (my guess is the belts are ok for another 12,000 miles, but they're damned expensive to replace)

so if he sais no to my offer then it's goodbye.

none of this crap is easy because i live so far away from the action, because all the best Evos are around Manchester

So its not mint, your unsure about the engine yet are still talking relatively top dollar?

I'd sit down and have a good think mate, really, I would.

Reading the thread you seem unsure on many levels, daydreaming (hence my last comment) perhaps? I dunno.

I'd hate to see somebody make a monumental **** up, you seem on the verge of doing so imo.

that's fair, but i'm not stupid or i wouldn't be having these doubts.... because you come home all excited.....calm down and then you worry.

``that paintjob isn't mint`` i've been thinking this all afternoon, the engine is deffo very low mileage..... but i dont trust it, because i see no Service reports do i....

that Evo is only worth £10 000 and if wasn't for the incredibly low mileage.............only £8 000, damn it i'm now depressed.
