The coil overs are Yellowspeed I think. Not Ohlins.
About £700 new.

http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=514259

they look ok to me, mixed reviews, nobody has really used them enough so it's hard to tell what they're like, he almost deffo got them from here because members get a discount

i'd say the ride felt moderately hard, like the old RS 2000 Escort, but then again i have nothing to compare it with, but if anything is wrong it'll be those rubbishy tyres....i want them replaced pretty soon

it looks like VTA bov, but the car doesn't stall plus he's had it recently tuned.
the Coilovers are ok, but i doubt they're as good as Ohlins, even so at least they're new, rather than 16 years old which is probably why he replaced them. this is an excellent car you cant really complain, the only fault are those tyres.

it's deffo a safer bet to buy than the 4STAR Evo which is 5K more, with no service history and a dodgy paint job... this one is very well maintained.

only a fool would buy it without showing it to others first, esp on the other forum......... dont forget that i know sod all about Evos, so i'm seeking advice first

this isn't a Jazz because that can be brought in 5 minutes

Yet liads eun meister r's.

Ohlins are meant to be top quality but would also be worth about 1/4 of the cars value.

So having slept on it mal x are you going to do the necessaries today?

I'm 100% convinced a more standard car like this is a better buy than a 520 time bomb.

the seller has just lied to me:-

``the reason for the tyres are that my father is 74 and doesn't need a racing tyre on the car that is what the mlr members don't understand witch to be honest is why I haven't yet posted the car on there .``

his father never has drived it, members over there dont trust him.

ok i'm not going to buy it....... i will ask the Moderators here to delete this thread.

Lol. If the car drives well and seems fine and had the history to back it up. Log book etc is genuine then who cares about if his dad drove it or not.

Seems like you can't justify it so you're using it as an excuse.

yes i really want it, but i cant justify the addition expense that it might require,............ the loan is easy, it's what happens if this car breaks down and leaves me skint for anything else, i wont even have the money to go to work.

finally how am i going to pay for a new rig and TV this year ?????

You take that risk with any car, if your that worried take some extra money out on the loan and leave it in a 'oh no' account incase something does happen.

Not that I imagine you'll ever buy one with how this thread keeps going.

i cant because then the loan gets too close to 15k, which is too much to repay every month.....

this thread needs deleting right now, but i cant find a moderator online

My gut feel is they are a family of car traders masquerading as car enthusiasts.

Gutted if i supplied the ammo that sunk the ship but hey id rather see someone not get ripped out of 10k tbh.

the Evo Xero Fighter they sold on MLR apparently sold in very little time. Why wouldn't they use that again?

it's not your fault m8, it's mine.

but i always think carefully later on, he's deffo a car trader because of all the other cars there....and they hate car traders over there, dont blame them.

the car is deffo worth 10k .............. it's the fear of it breaking down and leaving me skint.

you can not sell a car if it has finance??? because if so i'll buy it, because i can always sell it again in 4 months

``Inform the finance company and ask them for the “settlement figure” they will need from you to pay off your loan in full.

Bear in mind that it’s usually very difficult to sell a car with outstanding finance. The finance company will have registered your car on the HPI and Experian databases when you took out the finance plan.``

you can sell it, it just depends if the buyer trusts you enough to take the risk !!

i would have brought the car 20 years ago, but it's just not a wise thing to do, i'd be better off replacing the Jazz.

the only way i'd buy it now, is if i was able to sell it in 3 months time

If you're worrying about not being able to afford to an engine or gearbox rebuild then you can't really afford the car.

Not being funny but I did it twice. Nissan GTIR and my first Impreza. Bought both, ran on shoe strings and although the Impreza didn't bite me, £500 on a clutch for the GTIR killed me. Impreza No2 was a weekender and got next to no use in 6 months so sold it to buy the GF a hair salon (yes, that really happened :( )

Mal X - what history was with the yellow 5? Auction grade sheet? service history Jap or UK. AYC service etc etc.

i didn't get that far, i would have asked to see that stuff before purchase, i think it's an import from a few years ago..

the car is in such good condition that i was too shocked to ask anything sensible, i just wanted it straight away.......but knowing what i'm like i said ``i'll get back to you``

my guess is he has all that stuff, because he definitely looks after it well, he didn't even like me touching it, just in case i marked it.

Starts off wanting to buy an Evo..........ends up buying a TV.

no the tvs are rubbish, no better than my Panny, that was a waste of time, same quality of tvs as last year.... i only liked the Sonny and the Sammy SUHD but not enough to buy one:cool:

now these Coilovers, it's the same as the flipping tyres........crap
so that's another grand to fix, so that's 2 grand including the tyres, so what's this car's true value then because it looks like about 8k, but he deffo wont accept that

HSD coilovers can be had for a lot less than you think:
http://www.hsdcoilovers.com/hsd-coilovers-mitsubishi-evo-iv-x-cp9a-ct9a-cz4a.html

They are supposed to be quite good.

4 tyres won't cost a grand.

http://www.lancerregister.com/store_category.php?id=17

yes ok, more like 600 to 800...plus 580 for the Coilovers.....uuum

he said 10.2 k yesterday....down from 10.4k, but his trump card is the car is in great condition and that'll keep the price up, esp when you see how bad the other Evos are

the Evo wouldn't harm me at all if i got it financed, i only need to work an extra day a week to cover that.................it's if it suffers a major fault.
