MMOs

Guys, there's a new F2P MMO on its way. End of Nations. Basically, think C&C with 52v52 pvp action on 1 map :) This is going to be a monster of a title and does not have a "pay 2 win" button. The developers are Petroglyh and the co-devs are Trion Worlds, who gave you Rift. Check out the vids and screens, and enlist in the beta which will be starting soon.

Are there any MMOs with a decent magic system? With a variety of interesting and useful non-combat spells rather than just spamming fireballs? Also, good magical crafting / enchanting of items. Is there anything like this?

DDO - the full range of D&D spells, pretty much. They've just implemented a pretty good enchanting / crafting system too.

I haven't played DDO, but heard the magic system is very combat focussed? The enchanting / crafting sounds.like it might be interesting.

I started playing Aion again. Thankfully I'd paid in the past so my account is only partly restricted, but it's enjoyable enough at the moment. Seems like people are reluctant to party up sometimes though - basically soloing until I'm at a stupidly high level required to do the quests I need to party for.

I feel your pain, I played Darkfall, Mortal online & EvE Online.

Darkfall: To much grind, not enough content, city system sucks (lack of choice in location & how you want it to look) & UI is horrible.

Mortal Online: No map.

EvE Online: OMG BORING, I mean wow. How can you people play it?

I am looking forward to Guildwars 2 though.

I would if I was you play swtor, while end-play may not be massive its still pretty decent, and will be better with patch 1.2, which will be out long before you hit 50.
