Mobile Banking Apps - Which bank has the best app?

I never knew that banks had their own apps, as I always used Firefox on the web to login into Santander on my phone.

Then last week (so just before this thread was posted), I installed the Santander app. I found it fine to use. There were a few security bits and bobs e.g. 2-step via text message code, then after that, away you go.

I'm on iOS
Wow even more reason to dislike Halifax, app parity a few years ago I could understand no reason for more than a couple of months between them now. Also no proper statements, can't pay credit card from any other bank account or debit card, other than a Halifax current account(is that to make it harder work and hope to get more fees out of people). Really do find both the app and the bank as a whole dreadful.
Let alone when you compare it to things like resolute with notification on spending, being able to temporarily block cards, or the in app help chat. So much better than being on hold in some phone que.

Never had much dealings with the bank direct so can't comment but I hardly ever use the website now as the app is much quicker and you can do so much on it... Even easier now it has fingerprint login as well... It's also handy that, if you forget your wallet, you can use the app to get cash from the ATM...

santander is the best just simply because it doesn't log you out if you leave the app. you have like 60 seconds of inactivity until you're logged out. which is great as sometimes i need to log in, check something on say my calendar, or take a call, or anything else, and then go back. all other apps require you to login again

I can't believe all the praise in this thread for the Barclays app. It's slow, it logs you out as soon as your screen goes off or if you try to switch to another app for a moment and it only shows the last few months' of transactions.

And am I the only person who has problems with it throwing you out and having to set it up again? It happens if you have a couple of failed logins in a row, but if you try to use it late at night, the Barclays servers are often down so you can't log in but those count as failed logins. You then have to set it up again which requires going to a Barclays ATM. That's happened to me about 3 times now.

The only other one I've used is Santander, and that's much better. It's faster, it's reliable even late at night, it has many years of transactions and it lets you load other apps at the same time.

The lloyds stuff is junk - poorly designed and if you use add blockers can fail unpredicatbly (already discussed in windows thread)

But (this is GD) I use it maybe once a month .... do people really look every day ?
If you are running a budget you know in round figures what is there what you can afford - LOL
