Modern Warfare 2 PS3 MP Arranging Thread !

Next time, it might be worth everyone turning off "HQ mode" on the PS3 headset and lowering the sensitivity to 1.

I had a lot of splashback from other mics and found I had to mute my mic a lot as it was picking up EVERYTHING.

my mic seemed to pic up everything too, hence why i muted it - i've just tried changing the sensitivity to 1 but 3 is the only option that isn't grey'd out?

You have to turn off HQ mode before you can adjust the sensitivity.

1 is perfect for me. Only picks up my voice, try that.

You have to go into the Accessory Settings and press Triangle on the mic and disable HQ mode. Then you can alter the sensitivity.

I am going to try another method - keep the headset in its stand, plug some headphones into the TV and set the voice output to the TV rather than the headset. That way, there is no sound for the mic to pick up except my voice and I should be able to hear the game sound and anybody talking through the headphones.

I have never tried this before. I thought there was 2 ways to pair the headset. 1 via USB which enables HQ mode (and the fancy icons in the top right) and 1 via normal Bluetooth pairing.

Are you saying I can switch between the 2 in the XMB without re-pairing etc? Can this be done in-game?

Not in game - when you select Accessory settings, it will want to quit the game. But there is no need for any re-pairing.

Do the fancy icons disappear? i.e. is it switching to the mode you would have got if you had just paired via "normal" Bluetooth? And can you switch back?

(I will try this all later, just curious really).

Yeah, there ARE two ways to pair but only 1 gives you the GUI indicator showing battery level/mute status etc (that's the 1 where you pair via USB to the headset). No sensitvity adjustment though*

The other way (wireless pair) doesn't give you a HQ mode but will allow you to adjust the senstivity.

Now.. if you pair via USB you're stuck using sensitivity 3 (default) *unless you turn HQ mode off. Do this and you get best of both worlds.

You have to do this in the XMB, I don't think it'll allow accessory changes in-game.

I'm using the official headset and I haven't noticed my mic picking up everything, or saying that I haven't heard anyone complain. How was my mic last night on MW2 for you people?

If you can see your headset icon alight (best place to check on ingame lobby screen) when you're not speaking then you know you have a problem.

All I know is, I had splashback from almost everyone. stellasuppa and rp2000 being the exceptions :o

Just bought this game today - not had a chance to play it yet though I've no doubt I'll be on line at some point over the weekend.

PSN is in my sig ;)

I turned HQ mode off (from manage Bluetooth devices) and the only volume options are still 3 or off. Weird. I know I did it right as the icon in the top right is still there, but doesn't show HQ.

Hmmm. I refuse to pair mine via wireless (and lose the pop up dialog) but it seems weird how they won't let you adjust the sensitivity.

Also, the headset manual states the wireless setup as the recommended configuration

A case of the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing?
