Monaco Grand Prix 2011, Monte-Carlo - Race 6/19

Wah, wah, it's so unfair.
I don't understand the massively negative attitude people have here.
1 race doesn't make a championship.

Probably for the best. F1 2011 doesn't sound like it's the sport for you.
What I'm hearing here is that people would be happy to watch the boring race as long as it was Hamilton leading and not Vettel.
What difference would it have made, it'll still be business as usual for the next race. The Red Bull will still be the car to beat.

And yet you totally miss the point.

1) Hamilton is currently the only person even close to challenging Vettel
2) This is one of the few tracks where they can get the upperhand on RB

I guess you just want a boring championship where one driver wraps it up long before the end.

Personally I want some excitement, not a procession behind one driver.

This title is all but over unless Vettel has a few failures. Hamilton is the only one capable of pushing this and he's nowhere for the start. You have to assume he will lose another 5-10 points on Vettels lead.

Loads of races left but this is looking like a MS ferrari rout.

Ferrari? It's normal f1, f1 is usually dominated by one team for a few years then it switches. You get a closer season, then new team take over

Doesn't go down as low as seasons like buttons.

No. You're wrong.
I want an exciting championship, but so what if Hamilton had been up the front for this race? It would be exactly the same boring race but with a different order on the timing sheets.
1 race does not make the championship, Hamilton being up front wouldn't have magically turned everything on its head.

Monaco will always be a procession behind one driver.

So many people here just seem to give up, quit when it looks bad.

"Hamilton didn't get a good lap, the championship is ruined".

LOL

Time to turn off the F1 maybe and watch another sport?

actually, i like over taking and multiple drivers having the chance to win the championship, not one driver turns up sets a lap .5 second faster than anyone else due to the car. at moment all vettel lead is making f1 dull.
No-one watches a sport where one guy is winning every race, at least in Motogp its about the riders. even in rossis heyday he still had challengers.

Ad if he went out multiple times, people would be complaining why waste the tires.

Seems like it's the only reason some people watch the sport! :D

Maybe I am just kidding myself, but my thought for every race is that "something good could happen here".
The result isn't decided yet, for all we know Red Bull could have a dodgy pit stop tomorrow, Vettel could plow it into a wall, the other drivers could find an overtaking opportunity, the weather could go insane and it could rain...

There's still plenty to watch for. :)

Hence me saying, F1 2011 is not for you.
Stop watching if it bothers you that much, nobody has a gun to your head.
Vettel is very much on top form, he's in a great car and he's driving superb. I don't particularly like the guy but you can't deny that he deserves to be in the position he is in.
Viewing figures will speak the loudest, if people turn off in their thousands. Things will change...

Why do McLaren never learn.. You always set a banker lap and go out first at Monaco.

It was inevitable someone was going to make a mistake, and they've paid the price for sitting in the pitlane (again)

Here's hoping there's a safety car tomorrow or it's going to be a walk over.

so don't the BBC do the F1 forum after the show anymore....i cant find it on the red button, on freeview or online...?

For what reason?

Same as EVH really, It was only a matter or time before someone had a big accident, although hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Sure. After the race.

McLaren bad decision making strikes AGAIN though, jeez :/ As if it wasn't a bad enough decision leaving it to the last minute (ofc, nobody ever crashes at Monaco right  ), they then compound it by sending him out to sit on the red light in the pit lane for an eternity. Anybody here could tell you that would ruin the tyre temp, yet these professionals did it anyway.
