Monaco Grand Prix 2012, Monte Carlo - Race 6/20

Yep, little surprised, he beats JB in one stat. But that's still only one stat out of what 7. Points tell the right story. A couple off places between them compaed to 15places.
And let's not forget when's te last time, Fm did something good? Compaed to what JB has done for the last 3seasons.

Trust me, I'm as surprised as you!

I'll eat 1/7 of the humble pie Mr Men is serving because I've been slãgging Massa for the last two years. :o

The even more ridiculous part of that is, how many tyres did he go through in 3 quali sessions and trying to do a decent time in Q3 as well, idiot.

Still lucky to be in the race at all both in terms of taking today into account only, or his previous ban that his rich dad took care of for him.

Sensible move from Williams really if the gear box is a few races old as a fresh one will be better for the next few.

Still puts him too close to Perez for comfort :p

Any links to GP3 crash, I flicked over to it but only saw a bit of safety car action and some bad shots of the car, red flagged because they couldn't get the car out of the barrier by the looks of it?

Jesus christ, and they didn't black/orange flag the guy without the rear wing(which played a part I think) and didn't they let him win basically under the safety car despite weaving around.

I say I think the rear wing played a part as, is he not breaking much earlier for the chicane because he'll have smeg all downforce, and its probably breaking early which causes the collision, slightly like the Senna/Schumi crash last race if you ask me, slight second move coupled with breaking early(though here you should expect it with a guy without a freaking rear wing).

Crazy height though and from that angle I thought the car was going to swipe that marshall on the platform, thank god it just looked that way and he was really further back, that would have been horrendous if he got clipped by the car flying that fast, basically lethal.

Great it got out of that seemingly unhurt.

GP3, why is he defending a position that hard WITH NO REAR WING?!?!?!?! (commentator is right he moves too many times)

Safety stuff doing its job there thankfully

I like how DLR is only fractionally slower than Glock in that bucket of a HRT. 1.3 secs faster than Karthikeyan.

Kovalainen put in a strong showing too, just about nudging the back of the established teams.

Been playing with my spreadsheet some more:

Hamilton's sum best qualifying is 5.758 seconds faster than Alonso (or 0.960 average per qualifying session).

Hamilton's sum fastest laps are 0.444 seconds faster than Alonso (or 0.089 average per race).

Button's sum best qualifying is 5.064 seconds faster than Massa (or 0.844 average per qualifying session).

Button's sum fastest laps are 3.423 seconds faster than Massa (or 0.685 average per race).

Crazy that Hamilton's qualifying average is nearly a second better than Alonso but his race pace is less than a tenth of a second!

If you needed proof that Button is doing better than Massa (apart from the WDC points), not only is he nearly a second on average faster in quail, he's well over half a second faster on race day.

I've got too much time on my hands. :p
