This is what the tyre guys should be aiming for by the way, guys coming out and doing a fast pretty much full pace lap, then improving for a couple laps, then being slower but the tyre not being completely gone.
I HATE this one lap ultra run rubbish, because I want to see drivers make mistakes, given one lap it encourages playing it too safe, the feel when they go out, do 2-3 laps, increase pace, its just more exciting, and there is less of the ruddy blocking and slow in/out laps.
FIA should be asking for tyres that can give this type of tyre feel at all races, screw Merc, its not about that. Qualifying where everyone does a couple longer runs and we get some excitement, and races where the tyres don't fall apart, and races being decided by a strategy someone decides on a day before the race that is more luck than good work.
