Money Heist

Started watching this into season 4 or so I reckon, really enjoying this.

You have to take it with a bit of....I dunno, don't take it too seriously I guess, although it tries to be.

There are parts in it so far fetched, but.... I think the dialogue, acting and characters make it.

There are better series out there sure, but I'd say this is top of the second league down, so to speak.

I've not read through the thread yet, as I've only just finished what Netflix calls S2, but wow, great TV. I chose to watch as I'm learning Spanish and it's fun picking out some of the bits I understand, but generally still very reliant on the subtitles, which I would normally avoid, but I recently also watched Gomorrah and coped with subs in that, so looked for something Spanish and remembered people talking about this. Really enjoyed that first heist, would probably have this somewhere in my top 10 now, so I hope the following seasons maintain the level!

Not a series, but if you're after more Spanish content to practice with then the film Cell 211 is fantastic.

S3,S4 and S5 are all 1 big heist. Not as good as the 1st heist, but as it's the first Spanish show I ever watched, it holds a special place in my heart anyway. In my top 10 series ever, probably top 5.

My Spanish is not that great, but I've watched the Netflix version of s1/S2 with subs 3 times. By now I don't even need the subs as I know the story and understand 50% of the Spanish now, but I still use them!

I will recommend to you the second Spanish show I ever watched. Elite, also on Netflix. I only watched S1 and S2 but it is still going now on S5 and beyond. It's a high school/university setting with teen drama and a murder mystery in the background. Rio, Denver and Alison Parker from S1 and S2 of La Casa de Papel are in it and pre pretty much the main characters.

Finally, I highly recommend watching Money Heist Korea, if you liked the story of La Casa de Papel this is 90% the same story but the 10% that's different really elevates the plot. It's sets against the backdrop of Korean reunification as opposed to LCDP which was set against the backdrop of the 2008 banking crisis.

Just finished it. Very good. Off course not as good as LCDP which had multiple seasons per heist, but for an 8 episode series it told the story very well. The characters remind you of the ones in LCDP in their own way, although the heist crew is smaller.

Solid 8.5/10. (LCDP is probably a 9 or 9.5/10 for me!).
