Monster Studio A45 Collaboration Project - Sponsored

I didn't think QuietPC was still about! with how watercooling started etc so many good stores disappeared before OCUK reigned

Indeed they are, i met their operational manager at Tech Max who was showcasing a passively cooled build running a PL 14900 cpu. Was awesome seeing that churpin away on full load under passive cooling.

Had a good chat and they agreed to send me some bits out for testing. Consequently, Streacom also ships all my sponsor stuff through QuietPC as well.

Next Up! Carbon Black Version!

Daaayyuummmm! That's gorgeous :)

Amazing to see the momentum you've built in the last few months with the sponsers and stuff! Looking forward to seeing the black version.

I was so unsure about the pink but the satin tubing with the pink really works so well. Minimal RGB, only where it needs to be too.

Same, proud moment for me personally as i never considered it in the past. The Black Version is either going to be a sponsored Gigabyte card or a 4090 FE, haven't decided yet.

looks amazing mate. Congrats on another awesome build

Thanks Jabski! Onto the next one now :D

Praetex Design is Alex Banks/Maki Role formerly of bit-tech as modding lead and a highly-regarded modder for many a year. He's moved into professional machining and design now.
Xitia do open frame cases and sponsored two of Jay85's projects.
And you're literally looking at a Monster Studio project right now :p

Wish i could give you a number 1 fan badge haha. Thanks man :D

I have another big collab coming up with a very exciting design! One thing at a time though!

Ahh Alex from BT.. didn't know he had his own business but his work is impressive too.

I like the pink and white, i think it works well together and the colours very vibrant

Alex is still top dog tbh, though there are quite a few others doing the same thing, the OG is still Alex within the UK and his pricing isn't ridiculous and very fair.

Shame i have to dismantle this soon to make the Black Version, the gpu also has to be sent back to MSI.

I actually prefer the GPU in the board tbh. It keeps everything in tidy 90 degree angles to each other with the entire thing then offset 45 degrees by the frame. Having the GPU vertical breaks that cohesion and looks a bit odd as the only truly vertical item.

It's really weird, like if you look at it in certain angles, it looks better horizontal but then from the front with the board and everything else leaning at 45 degrees, it looks awesome. Can't make up my mind which i like more still.

Need to decide when i build this in black.

Yep! - For the black version are you going WC, or gonna stick with the air cooler? (What card is it? I know you showed the ProArt, but 4080/4090 etc)

Oh yes! Gonna be a full WC build, i was considering putting the 4070 Ti ProArt card into this but i think i'll stick my 4090 FE with the Heatkiller block in instead. Only thing i need to get is the black Aluminium covers to replace the Steel covers i have on now.

Asrock as promised sent over the board i needed for the Black Version to pair with the Memory kit for this build. Now whether i can hit 8000mts using the xmp profile will highly depend on the cpu i test it with, i have my new trusty 13700K which seems to have a pretty good IMC so here's hoping.

The board is pretty perfect for the build, all black, no rgb, no fuss. Pics of the actual board coming later tonight :D

I've always liked open cases and considered a build myself, but the dust, cat hair and little cat noses would disagree!

I see you went on a like spree , thanks man.

I was about to say dust isn't so bad, infact it's less than having an enclosed case as there's minimal fans blowing dust onto your components but the cats would definitely disagree :D

I was surprised to find this, when I built my first PC in what I would call an open case. It was an Antec Skeleton and the 200mm fan on the top kept the dust off everything. I still have it in the loft!

But yes, kitty cats are not going to love you for having open fans on external surfaces like this build! Ouch!

P.S. yes to the vertical mount.

I remember the Skeleton well! @Ace Modder would appreciate this too, imagine if we did a retro but modern build in this now . I remember wanting one but not being able to afford it at the time.

Vertical mount is definitely a go, i have a custom waterblock being made for our Asus ProArt 4070 Ti coming! I'm hyped for it and hoping to use it in a few builds.

Got my A45 frame back from the powdercoaters, it looks so good in matte black. The finish is top notch!

Pics later tonight :D, started to build up the black version now too.
