Chip now up to 4% AER. Expect Monzo and Chase to up their rates soon.
Did they unfreeze it?I just tried to make a BACS payment to a local tile company which resulted in Monzo freezing my account, which was lovely.
In the end yes, although I had to have them call me which could be massively inconvenient if I wasn’t able to take a call.Did they unfreeze it?
The thing which irked me is that they asked for an invoice from the company nearly straight away which I uploaded, they then insisted on having the phone call. I get there's scams, but in my initial response I said it was for some tiles, from a local tile company, here's the invoice. The problem is if it was fraudulent and they didn't freeze it they'd still be the bad guys.
As long as they don't make a habit of it I don't see it as a bad thing.

It was all a bit weird if I'm honest, I can't remember any proper checks being done but then nothing sensitive was spoken about. They call you back? Don't like that at all. I'd much rather be put on hold (despite how aggravating it can be), at least that way you know that you're talking to the real organisation because you initiated the call.
Thats weird, I actually bought nearly £400 worth of tiles from Topps tiles using my Monzo debit card 3 months ago and it went through straight away no problemThe thing which irked me is that they asked for an invoice from the company nearly straight away which I uploaded, they then insisted on having the phone call. This was a BACS payment, we'd bought from the local shop before but we had an outstanding balance to pay and we didn't have time to go in to pay by car, hence invoice and BACS via email. I didn't expect there to be any issues given it's to a business!Thats weird, I actually bought nearly £400 worth of tiles from Topps tiles using my Monzo debit card 3 months ago and it went through straight away no problem
Where do you view that? That’s handyNot that it helps but Starling calulates the total you need to put in each month based a date you set.
Some banks are adopting it, it’s more secure.Slightly OT but hopefully a quick answer. Just joined Chase and got the card, and there are no numbers on the card??…..
No, seriously, noticed there is no signature strip.
Is this the norm now from some banks? Not seen it before so just curious if it’s a Chase thing.
Go on to the Space, click Manage Space, then click the "Bills paid from this Space" button. You'll get the checklist of DDs you'd be paying out, and an estimated total shows up as an overlay. This is what I see on iOS, it should be pretty similar on Android, I imagine.Where do you view that? That’s handy
