Monzo/Starling Banking/Revolut

Not Starling, Monzo or Revolut etc.. but HSBC is closing its Zing multi currency account after just a year. Shame as it was better than Revolut or Wise for popular currencies and basic exchanges.

This is what happens when traditional banks play with digital. Reminds me of RBS closing 'Bo' and leaving its customers in the lurch.

This is interesting, Payz who are an e-money card have a UK issued Discover / Diners Club card so I got myself one as I thought that's cool. Tried it the other day online to renew a domain name and it worked, although Amazon doesn't seem to want to add it to my payment methods.

How was it different to their global money card?

I have my credit card direct debit taken from a Chase savings account. They all have individual sort codes and account numbers. They are more handy than Starling Spaces in my opinion and make interest too.
Shame you can't have a card for each account.
I have a bills account that my card is used for for those bills that are a recurring debit card payment.
But Id like a card for use with the main account as well.

It was more like a Revolut and Wise i.e. a multi currency card rather than the Global Money account (GMA). Unlike the GMA it was open to everyone not just HSBC members. You could send and receive payments. The GMA didn't allow to you receive payments.

The GMA has HSBCs own exchange rate, plus a premium on weekends. Zing was more upfront on the costs, with 0.2% exchange fee, and no transfer fees.
