I highly recommend the bbc world service series, 13 minutes to the moon. It has some great commentary and interviews from NASA and some really cool insights into the Apollo programme from the terrible fire of Apollo 1 all the way to the touch and go moments of touchdown.
I don’t think there is any chance the dates were manipulated, even if they were it’s still cool that man landed on the moon and the effort that went into getting there.
