More 6870 Benchmarks...

Eclectic, nice to see you pretend to run Crysis Bench at 4xAA when in fact it's no AA :) Trying to trick anybody? Also you run the benchmarks at 10% lower resolution, your scores would be significantly lower.

I didnt pretend, sir. Why would I do that. I certainly meant to run it with 4xAA, Im glad you noticed it wasnt. I selected the option, but being the first time Ive ran the benchmark I somewhow didnt submit it.

It not like I changed it to 4xAA AFTER the benchmark.

If I was trying to trick people, I wouldnt have included the log. Though looking at the program, I probably changed it after checking what the other was run at, and ignorantly didnt hit the arros. I ran it at 1920x1080 as thats my monitors max res.

So, for clarity, despite this all being fake. Heres my run through. Ignore run 1, I forgot to set it to very high. Despite being slightly worried, it was able to run at 1920x1200 without blowing my monitor up :P

Meh, run at 32-bit though :/ D'oh

X64 rub.

Run #2- DX10 1900x1200 AA=4x, 64 bit test, Quality: VeryHigh ~~ Overall Average FPS: 33.635

This sounds weird, the heaven benchmarks are in a html file so you wouldnt need to shop anything, just change the underlying values??

And as you can see all this talk about the 5870 not being good at extreme tesselation is just tosh, a couple of tweaks and a small overclock and mine is doing ok:

GPU-Z can easily be manipulated to display incorrect values, heaven results are 100% fake so we still await some legit 6870 performance figures.

heaven results are 100% fake ...

I figured it was from the performance scores.

A ~30% performance increase (as shown in vantage and crysis) is plausible, but a doubling of tessellation performance doesn't seem realistic, given that this is supposed to be a minor revision on the same manufacturing process.

It's not suppose to be a minor revision but a hybrid between the current gen and Northern Islands. Most features of the latter fit onto 40nm core.
