More jealousy.

I too am sorry for what has happened to him, but you wouldn't park a ferrari in a run down council estate would you.... so apply a similar notion here

£35,000 is a lot of money for a car - so shouldnt it be in a garage?? (Just a thought...)

Although of course it is disgusting that you cant park a car outside your own property without it getting vandled but thats the society we live in.

He does have a garage, if you read his first detailing thread, but understandable that you would not want to garage it all the time. Not sure if I would.

When I was seeing a girl up in caerphilly, one of her neighbours decided to use a knife to run down the side of my car and then brag about it to all her other neighbours. I informed the police who did sod all about it, so next time I saw her out I told her I was going to take her to court for damaging my car. She denied it, then turned round and said I deserved it because I parked on the pavement.

I didn't get the chance however, she dropped dead a few days later. Im a strong believer in Karma.

Sorry Fox but it does. I know a bloke who had a brand new E320 done the same, a brand new RX8 was also done. All the cars parked in the highstreet had their tyres slashed one night. Also all the cars on the road my aunt lives on had their tyres slashed and she drives an R reg Corsa B!

All of this happened in a North Yorkshire market town!

I erring on Fox's angle on this one. I accept totally that it may be a random attack on someone who cares for his car, but there are several things which make me think this was done "for a reason":

1.) The degree - Whoever did this pretty much made sure every panel was ruined. One or two would have been enough for someone doing it on a whim.

2.) Duration - Further to above, the whole car would take longer to do and thus increase the risk of being caught. One or two panels would have done the job.

3.) The method - I dont know anyone who has a spare can of nitro mors in the garage. Cant categorally say this is the case, but I reckon the person bought it specifically for this purpose.

4.) Extent - Paint stripper is harsh. Chucking mud/feces on it would do the job and be cheaper, easier to organise.

5.) Experience - Every instance of a car paint stripper'd I know of round here was done for a reason. But thats the jolly old south i guess.

In any case, I'm very, very angry for the owner. I know how much I care for and maintain my dirty old Honda, let alone something that cost that much.

Seriously?

And that is shocking how someone could do that to such a car. I read his previous thread a week earlier about how much effort he put into cleaning and as Lopéz said, some bored kids probably walked past him a few times whilst he was cleaning it and thought it would be funny to wreck it later that night? Hopefully karma comes round and hits them in the face.

I could quite happily shoot someone who does that in the face and lose no sleep whatsoever.

They are an absolute worthless dog turd of an excuse for a human being and a complete and utter waste of DNA.

Mad doesn't come close!

don't agree with fox

that audi is a flash motor compared to your average ford/vw/vaux which are littered everywhere, infact i can't even remember the last time i saw a new shape A4

huh? I don't understand this. If you have a garage why wouldn't you put the car in it, especially if you have a fancy car and live in a rough area. I mean, my car is only a cheap old jap thing but I keep it garaged all the time.

i have a garage, its too much hassel taking car in and out, plus the car only just fits.

i've had my car vandelised(kinda) and still cba using the garage

I agree with fox. Doesn't seem to be a random. Someone has gone to the effort of buying paint stripper and target that car. Someone obviously saw the guy washing and detailing the car during the 10 hrs it took.

I would have put it in the garage myself. wonder how much it would cost to respray and repair the paintwork? £3k?

Looks pretty good compared to the cars around, mainly the old shape astra and laguna. I would be thinking it's because he has did wrong to someone but people can be petty so something as little as leaving loads of soap in the street can **** off some right pedantic psycos.

I don't think it's kids...as to buy nitromors,at least in my work, the people would not sell to neddy looking kids or even people my age. Spray paint is 16+ so i assume nitromors would be similar.

Remind me of the guy across the road who washes his laguna all the time and his brother comes up in his A6 avant and washes it every other bloody day.

So much more cars out there for £35k its unreall :(

I'm sorry but I'm convinced there is more to it than that. Nobody vandalises an Audi A4 diesel like that out of jealousy - it's a nice car but it's no Ferrari F430. There must be another reason why someone has decided to do that to that car.

Thats knda what I was hinting at but as always Fox is direct and to the point. Paint stripper suggests a pre-meditated and planned attack. In my time as a parts manager at a busy dealership most cars we got in with paint stripper or brake fluid (the other popular choice) were usually because an enraged ex-lover/partner wanted revenge, or the guy had been a prat to someone and that someone didn't have the guts to square up to him.

There are of course exceptions to every rule so in this case it may well have been a random attack, however in my experience these are usually tyre slashings, keying and/or kicking of panels. This took time to complete and some forward planning.

Either way they are still cowards and should be hung.

On the referenced thread he says ""My CCTV found a few outlines of people lurking in the shadows but they managed to keep out of frame."

How many of you guys have a CCTV system installed?, to me this suggests a history of trouble and also why I said you never really know the whole story in these situations.

Indeed, he should sell that fancy car and move to a nicer area.
