The logic here :D

Ahhh, the good old days, when there were less than half the number of cars on the road yet 7 times the number of fatal crashes

As opposed to brainwashed ********* incapable of being responsible for ones own action and being held accountable for ones own actions due to a significant lack of moral fibre.

Before the world went mad it was fine to have 3 or 4 drinks in country pub and drive home, many people did it without an accident and even if you have a accident plod helped you out if you could actually communicate nicely instead of throwing you in Jail and a prison sentence and destroying your general law abiding life.

Fortunately people have become more informed and educated on the effects of alcohol on a person's ability to drive safely, and it's become less socially-acceptable and more strictly-enforced by police and the courts since then.

Ignorance isn't a characteristic of moral fibre.

Also. some of us where actually born in the same enviorment, education etc as these lot but rised up to this nonsense with what you call common sense and here we are posting in this forum in one of our many nice shiny tech mobile phone or computer

You clearly did not grasp the concept, if you did you would realise you would BE that person. There are many factors not just environment and education, your genetics and intellect, and experiences also play a role. Keep contemplating.

You seem to think "common sense" is a inherited reality, like the universe has created some log and journal of what it says is common sense or not. Reality is a playground anything is possible is just really knowing the recipe (or as we like to call inventions, technology and science). Mobile and wireless devices would have been impossible 500 years ago, people would have laughed their socks off at you even mentioning the idea.

Common sense is mind-created, and "groupthink" if you were born into a tribe and grew up with cannibalism, then cannibalism would be "common-sense".

Reality has no qualms about one animal killing another, not even humans do, we call it nature, reality also has no qualms about one human being killing another human being, (it's exactly the same as any other animal).

The problem arises in the human thinking mind, the ego "oh no this wrong! because my mind tells me so, it's injustice, reality shouldn't be like this! REALITY SHOULD BE LIKE WHAT MY EGO TELLS ME IT SHOULD BE!"
Hah! Reality doesn't adjust to you, you adjust to reality. That's why acceptance is a usually a powerful tool to overcome grief, such as a lost one.

You would understand reality truly if an atomic bomb was falling over your head right now where you had no say whatsoever about your demise, just a complete and utter defeat, you would either humble yourself in your fate or die screaming.

You know this already, if it was wrong reality wouldn't let it happen, but it does, Reality is like God, and it is letting everything happen for the sake of infinity, reality wouldn't work if there was no bad (for contrast) or if everyone was immortal.

The same way you have no qualms about watching a horror movie with monster's ripping people's heads off, or a movie with rape in it or any other negative stuff, in fact most people like it, that's why they create movies like this, for "entertainment" lol they like these horrible things as long as there is a safety net, the screen between them and the horrible experience.

Some of the best video/popular video games, are violence, such as FPS people shooting each other, Fortnite, GTA, etc. let's face it, humans love killing each other as long as there is no consequences.

The more conscious you are the more reality would feel like a movie, and you will be humble in death, the more egoistical you are, the more you will think you are the body and that death is the most horrible thing ever.

You guy's really need to do metaphysics and philosophy. The common thought of the average person is what is letting civilisation down right now we need people to start advancing as a whole. Deep thoughts, counter balanced with no thought (meditation) is way better than "common sense", Common sense is delusion, one man's common sense is utter madness to another man, because ultimately common sense is actually just a perspective with a fool who thinks it's "truth".

Not to defend drink driving but I expect that is a combination of things like more common seatbelt use, better car technology etc as well as people generally being more aware of the dangers of drink driving.

Hey if we legalise drink driving then can you imagine how many fewer drink driving offences would be caused? It would be amazing!

Yes you'd have less drink driving arrests and more car crashes, but it wouldn't reduce the broad spectrum of crimes associated with drug addiction.

Addicts wouldn't need to steal, less twokking, house braking, shoplifting, burglaries, muggings.
Women would not be forced into selling themselves to feed their habit.
Fewer beggars, reduction in homelessness.
A massively reduced burden on the police.
Reduction in organised crime.
Etc etc etc.

Alcohol is legal. People steal to fund their alcohol habits.
Alcholics are often homeless and beg.
Alchohol is responsible for a huge amount of police work.
Alcohol is linked to organised crime.

Any more points you want me to refute?

This might actually be the most stupid post I've seen on these boards.

you may need to rethink that :) :

Fail to see how the truth is stupid, guess its the same as going to a phone box with load of 2p to make a phonecall pretty stupid as well.....

It happened whether you accept it or not is bye the bye.

That would mean an increase in slight casualties and a decrease in serious and fatal.

According to the department of transport:

Examples of ‘Slight’ injury are:

  • Sprains, not necessarily requiring medical treatment
  • Neck whiplash injury
  • Bruises
  • Slight cuts
  • Slight shock requiring roadside attention. (Persons who are merely shaken and who have no other injury should not be included unless they receive or appear to need medical treatment).

I doubt that it is due to car technology or seat-belt use.

The graph shows considerable dips after 1983 when they brought in breath testing. There was a climb in offenses towards the late 90s but this dropped after plenty of TV campaigning was introduced in the early 00s with increased severity for those who break the law. The police also took a far more active role in clamping down on drink driving.

It isn't car technology or safety that is attributed to less drink driving fatalities but a change in attitude toward drink driving by the general public. Though plenty of people drink drive now, it is far less than before.

Well there is medical heroin in Norway, Holland and Switzerland, which is given free to addicts.

Large drops in criminality have been observed with an improvement in users health too. This is basically what Asim is saying, the illegality and associated profitability of drugs that causes more problems than the addiction itself.

Yep Exactly. I was about 12 years old on holiday to Switzerland, we were passing by a massive greenhouse and learned that it was government drug growing operation to actually help addicts!

All your points are absolutely correct, but I don't think they directly refute what's been said.

Just because alcohol does these things, doesn't mean crack/heroin needs to be artificially inflated by millions of percent.

WE WAS THAT person but we ROSE ABOVE the nonsense!

Stop making EXCUSES for these so called gangsters.

/facepalm.

Yes you may have, because you had different experiences and intellect, etc. Even if we cloned you and made an exact copy of you, you and your clone would not have 100% identical lives.

This is what evolution is, everyone is you, every living thing is a clone of cells which all originally started in one place, every thing you see around you is another version of yourself who's gone on a long different journey of evolution.

You make it sound as if he would like an increase in crime.

Everybody can see, or should be able to see, that this guy is on another level when it comes to insight and profundity.

He is not making excuses for anything.
