Desks combo video from the demo... looks hard to do but they are so pretty
I realise mortal kombat games have never really focused on balance but that video shows desk spamming the same punch quite a few times and juggling them in the air with it. I hope is possible to block and counter that or it could get pretty lame online pretty fast.

The game has combo breakers so you can stop them. I don't think it's as much as spamming either it looks like pretty strict timing. You gotta take into consideration this is an early build of the game, they will probably make tweaks off the feedback of the demo!

Countering is pretty easy once you get the gist of it and I'm not the kind of guy who can pull off combos well. I found the MK demo to be a lot more accessible than Street Fighter when it come to pick up and play.

Devs have also said that the demo build of the game is fairly old and they have already made changes.

The only thing I dont like is Johnny Cage's chest tattoo. Where did that come from? It wasn't in any of the original games so I don't see why the devs felt the need to add it.
Still, the more I play the demo the more I'm enjoying at and am getting pretty good at it by now, and mastering a few combos. I've yet to even try out either Mileena or Johnny Cage as the Ninja's rule supreme, and I barely pick anyone except Ninja's in any of the MK games.

Yeah looks that way. The 360 is getting some exclusive content as well... all we know so far is that it's not an exclusive character (at least not on the disc) but some other kind of content, also the 360 version has a scorpion avatar costume which looks good.
I own both formats but tbh I'd rather not have Kratos or any non cannon character included in the game.

Shame about the Steelbook case not being included but for 50 notes considering what you get its still a bargain. Yeah, I agree with you there about Kratos. Why would I want a character that isn't part of the Mk universe to be in a Mk game? It makes no sense whatsoever, and I personally think adding stuff like that actually makes the game worse. Its the very reason why I had no interest in MK Vs Dc even though the actual game was apparently pretty good it just seemed stupid to me. Why would Batman be fighting Sub Zero for gods sake? If they want to add console exclusive characters they should use some of the Mk roster that arn't in the Full Game as of yet. Like Rain. Where the hell is he?!!

I'd have to disagree there, Kratos is one of the most recognizable faces in video games. When you think of violence in video games he's usually going to pop into your head and he's a perfect addition to this game I feel. Just to clarify something, he will not be included in the story so do not worry about this having a negative effect on how the story is told. He will have a bio and will be available in versus modes so I'm not entirely sure how anybody can think this would have a negative effect on the game. Motaro and Rain not being included has nothing to do with the addition of Kratos to the game, Motaro wasn't included because of technical difficulties.
The reason for Rain's absence has not been confirmed but I'm guessing that it's something to do with DLC, they needed to keep 1 or 2 peeps for DLC and let's be honest...it's not like we're going to miss Rain in terms of telling the story he really did not have any significant impact before and I'm struggling to think how he will this time around.

Well no matter how well he fits hes not part of the established franchise. It would really brake the immersion for me. Its like Jack Bauer meeting Sayid in Lost yeah there the same type of character but it dosn't mean the two should meet. Also I think multiplayer would be spoiled with every other player been Kratos... I think it would **** me off to be honest. Sure a fighting game should based on crossovers should so things like this and it would have a positive effect but not a story driven serious game that this game belongs to.
I had the same opinion of mixing Yoda and Vader in another established fighting game franchise though it didn't effect me as I had no interest in that game. Things like this are usually done as a cheap ploy to gain extra sales from another fanbase, not a good move especially in what is essentially a reboot game.

You seem easily annoyed lol, if people want to play as Kratos let them play as Kratos and you can beat the mess out of them with your MK character

I didn't play as either so it never really bothered me, you're lucky enough to have both formats so you'd be better off getting it for 360. It's not like you can have master chief in there, the only person I can think of is Marcus Fenix but even then that's a bit of a stretch. What do you call that ninja from the DoA games, Ryu Hayabusa isn't it? He could probably fit the best I'm not entirely sure though if he's exclusive to Microsoft or not cause he has his own series outside of DoA.
