Mortal Kombat (2011)

I'm not sure if the demo is coming to 360. I have the feeling the demo is Psn exclusive or (exKLUsive in Mk speak). I think its ridiculous how you have to pay extra to be able to try a demo (I think the same about Xbox Live gold demos - even though I'm actually a member myself) and think a demo should be available to everyone from the get go, especially when you consider it has a considerable effect on sales. Looks like I'll have to wait til next week to get my paws on the Psn demo.

Have me a lot more excited about MK than I ever was about MvC3. I'm not having a go at you, just every post I've seen you make in this thread has been negative I just think you're forgetting about the positives the game has to offer.

Oh, as a game to play on your own this ranks right up there with smash bros in terms of content. Although solitary play isn't really what fighting games are about... nor is online for that matter.

My opinion is certainly biased towards competitive play, and if you're not interested in a balanced multiplayer fighting game then my posts should be ignored. Same for most games actually, as I am not a fan of non-Nintendo single player games (Zelda, Mario, Pikmin etc) and pretty much only play games socially.

Well if you're only interested in it for competitive play I guess that's fair enough, I do believe though after playing the demo this MK game has already made leaps and bounds over other previous installments. Who has the 90% damage combo by the way? I didn't expect it to be one of the demo characters, looking at gameplay vids the only guy I looked at and thought 'yeah he's going to be broken' was Sektor he can pull off some ridiculous stuff.

Everything is changing all the time as well I have faith the final version won't be broken. a lot of the time especially with the x-ray moves the damage isn't set in stone and its just a place holder amount while the game is worked on.
 
That's what I was saying in one of my above posts we're still 5 weeks out, there's plenty of time to get final tweaks in place and get patches ready.

It is very fun and very very brutal. Loving the demo, and I'm not usually a fan of beat-em-ups but this one has something about it which I like. Probably because since I'm such a noob I'm enjoying the fact that all of the specials and fatalities etc aren't that hard to pull off, unlike SF4.

So in that respect don't know if this game will appeal to the hardcore crowd, but to joe average like myself will find the game extremely fun.:D

So, there's a good chance as a fighting game fan and old school gamer with lots of nostalgic memories of MK I'd buy this, but I'm not allowed to play the demo?!

Not going to be a day one purchase for me anymore. If the reviews say it's as good as it looks I'll get it later and if they don't I'll wait for a price drop. Silly really because if I'd liked the demo I'd have pre-ordered.
Special treatment for beta's I understand, but restricting demo's restricts audience. Odd choice.
 
Demo is great I'm really enjoying it! Only had 10 mins before work, but It plays really well and all moves come together into achieving some awsome combos. I think the X-ray moves should be nerfed a little damage wise though. Definitely earned a pre-order from me.

I think (but am not certain) that it is a 1 week timed demo exclusive. i.e. next week it will be available for all PS3 users. I think they have done this in the past with other PS3 demos (giving them to Plus users first).

Assuming it is 1 week exclusive, you still have ages with the demo (full game is 5 weeks away) before it is released.

Agreed - anything else thats been on PS+ as a demo has always turned up on the PS Store the week after - not a massive thing when the games still over a month away - is there gonna be a few PS3ers that will get this?

Has anyone seen the preorder deal amazon are doing? Pretty nice, if you preorder the normal edition with them you get:

Classic Sub-Zero Costume along with classic fatality.
Classic Reptile Costume along with classic fatality.
Classic Kitana Costume.

GAME don't seem to be offering any preorder bonus with their normal edition so I emailed them to hear if they just haven't published the details yet on their website, if they aren't offering anything think I'll be going with amazon.
 
I'll only pre-order if those costumes are not available as DLC later on.
