Mortal Kombat (2011)

I don't think I would enter the dlc code if it wasn't a Mk character, it just isn't right somehow.

Me and a friend (who is also a big Mk fan) were playing the demo last night - FOR ONE AND A HALF HOURS! The funny thing is I only played as Sub Zero (my fav) and he only picked Scorpion (his fav) for the whole time. Even afterwards we wernt bored and could easily have played it for another hour or more. The funny thing is that was just a demo with only two levels and limited fatalities. It just goes to show how good this game actually is considering we played the same characters for the whole of that time and the only reason we stopped was because we were running short on time!

Some really awesome games coming out this year. This is one of them.

Well see that's the thing, I discussed this very same thing on another forum. It's not like you can have master chief in there, the only person I can think of is Marcus Fenix but even then that's a bit of a stretch. What do you call that ninja from the DoA games, Ryu Hayabusa isn't it? He could probably fit the best I'm not entirely sure though if he's exclusive to Microsoft or not cause he has his own series outside of DoA.

Looks awesome. The moves look near enough identical to the ones Kratos has in the God of War games, from the QTEs to Medusa's gaze to the flaming arrows!

Played the demo for the first time today.

Boy is this game good. I shall purchase on the day of its release!
 
Kratos looks slow, or is it me?

Completed the demo on the hardest setting with ease. The CPU almost never blocks, or perhaps I'm used to the SSF4 CPU that blocks all :p
 
Me and 7 other mates are having a mortal kombat night and an 8 man tournament the night of release for this, we drew names out of a hat for the brackets but to make things more interesting when your name was drawn you also had to draw a random character that you have to use throughout the tournament. I drew Stryker, I may aswell just forefit now :(
 
I'm just gonna be sticking to my TE. Not bothered that it doesn't have the MK layout as I don't like the look of that anyways.
 
Yeah i dont really like the look of that layout either. What buttons are actually used in this game? is it your standard mortal kombat hi/low punches and kicks and block? Also noticed theres seems to be a button that changes stance of your character. What effect does that have?

Youve got a left and right punch, and a left and right kick. I assume that it is basically a strong/weak punch/kick...as in if youre character has their left foot fowards, then the left punch will be a weaker attack (a jab or whatever) and the right punch will be more powerful.

There is a seperate button for block - shoulder button is default

The switch stance seems to just change the leading foot from one to the other. Maybe its just simply so you can choose which way round your strong/weak buttons are?

Triangle - strong punch
Square - weak punch
Circle - strong kick
Cross - weak kick

Cross - strong kick
 
A mate was telling me this morning that Kollector's Edition of this have sold out in the UK, I see GAME have taken down their preorder page for it. Kind of expected it to go quick for £50.

cool thanks for that. Not much different to the older games then, 2 punches, 2 kicks, a block and stance instead of run. Just wondered how it would work with my custom stick with a standard 8 button layout. Dont see why you would need a stick with that wierd MK layout :confused:
 
Im quite the mortal kombat fan and this new release has me really hyped. Regardless of the button layout the stick looked quite nice and i just wanted to spend some extra cash on a game ill be playing for a long time to come i expect.
