Mortgage Rate Rises

Drill hole through wall and use a hose pipe. Assuming you can afford water bills.

Maybe use a water butt or recycle wee if desperate.

Or just don't shower.

That's the society we all aspire to.

We just use the main bathroom. The ensuite... I kid you not.. Had wallpaper in it! :D

Yea anything house related is absolutely bonkers.

The tradesmen are definitely minting and riding off a high horse during these times

Yeah things are insane right now in that area.

I got a bit of a taste for home drinking during lockdown so we had a large bar room built in our garden last year, complete with electric shutters, wired internet, industrial drinks fridge, electrics, the lot.

I knew it wasn’t going to be cheap but it was more than three times what I had initially budgeted by the time it was done.

£60k?

Fortunately not, I naively thought you could remove wallpaper and paint over... Unfortunately many of our walls needed skimming. Wallpaper everywhere.
As soon as i took down my wallpapers the walls started falling apart...

Did u just did a reskim or did u remove all of the old plaster to brick level? thats what i done upstairs

This is all plasterboard.
The plasterboard was in too bad a shape to paint over. So reskim was best way.

Reignite the old music career on the side!

I remember when everyone was crying about the polish builders coming over here undercutting UK builders. Pendulum swung the other way on that hasn't it.
I remember at work once, it took 2 Polish builders 2 days to knock down and rebuild a significant wall.

It took the on-site facilities company (interestingly run by the son of a senior manager) 4 days to build a garden shed which later became their man-shed essentially, it had a dart board IIRC.
