Which band is in the OP: original video, love the melodic/death type metal type stuff. Are they called "six" ?

All that remains - Six, off 'The Fall of Ideals' album

If anyone started moshing like that at any gig i went to, i wouldnt know whether to laugh or what. There's a big difference between moshing and the spinkicks/punching done in that video (it's 'hardcore dancing' really). A bit of moshing is good fun, but no one at any gig i've been to would dream of punching around like that -- it's just daft. I guess you'd go to a gig specifically to do that crap.
To me, it looked like that African Martial Art, Capoeira. I don't know if you've seen videos of that, but they do those sort of spin kicks without hitting each other, some punches and acrobatics.. looks just like some of the moves from the movie clip there. I'm wondering if maybe its some sort of new mosh thats associated with that band. Would end up in the people untrained getting quite hurt though, I imagine.

personally dont mosh, but have no qualms with people doing and whilst it does look amusing its not for me (short, weak, glasses, usually get hit in the face anyway)

musics usually pretty good though :)

Honestly don't get why people want to do that. Where's the enjoyment in getting knocked around? Isn't the idea of a gig to hear the music and watch the band play? Maybe I'm just old-fashioned. :)

cant exactly mambo/waltz to rock though :p, and better than standing there looking bored i guess

though that wall of death in the video does look a lot more psychotic than moshing

That is so true, why pay and then do that! makes no sense to me :)

You get a huge rush and a huge sense of union especially in a circle pit :)
Download 2005 + Lamb of God = one of the scariest moments of my life.

some people jump out of planes for kicks, some people listen to really loud music and go crazy. I like both :) - Never been to A&E because of either.

I guess you wouldn't really understand it until you actually did it. I thought it was idiotic too, until I tried it, then I realised it was actually one hell of a rush. Not just that, but it theres some sort of mass camraderie thing going on when everyones pushing and shoving, but at the same time helping the fallers and ensuring people don't get seriously injured. Inside all that madness, theres actually some pretty good feelings being created. Man, I sound like a hippy. :p

The video just looks like people assaulting each other. I am pretty sure there will be some broken noses and split scalps as a result. Jumping around and being squashed up against each other is one thing but deliberately hitting each other is stupid. Just because it is done whilst watching a live band play music doesn't change the fact it is illegal.

If some moron like in the vid came towards me swinging his fists I would do my best to defend myself and knock his lights out.

It's the related injuries I've had to treat in A&E. Out of all the alcohlol/drug related accidents, this by far, has to be the dumbest cause ever full stop

Then they aren't doing it properly :p Look at my first post to see the "rules" of moshing :)
