Moshpits are awesome. Adrenaline rush :) also one of the kindest places you can be. You want see people in any other club scrambling to pick people up like in a mosh pit..

Is it not more common to be floored in a mosh pit tho?

Not at all, common misconception. You do get elbowed and stuff, but not on purpose, it just the nature of 20+ people jumping around together and pushing. It's all about the excitement and adrenaline rush and the sense of madness.

I've seen a lot of girls being absolute s*** causing idiots at gigs though :\
Once this lass proper cracked my mate in the face 'cos he nudged her (it was literally a nudge, nothing compared to what was going on around us).

End of the day if you're small and can't take it, don't go near the front.

Ravers look just as retarded pilled up with glowsticks ;)

There just the ones who have done about 8 pills and a few lines of crack which reseults in eyes in the back of your head and your jaw the other side of the room.

THe few mosh pits I've been in have been very good natured TBH and a laugh, just people bouncing off each other, no real aggression just people letting off lots of steam in a physical way.

I haven't been in a mosh pit for quite a while. Used to get into them at rock clubs, and then at Reading Festival down the front.

Just jumping/running about, letting off steam to the music really- no intention of people getting hurt. You'll find most of the people are looking out for eachother, and readily pick eachother up if they go down. I've been in ones where the entire circle pit has stood still while people get picked up, and then it continues!

Can you imagine a pilled up teenage chav full of WKD's in a mosh pit. I'd love see it..!!

They are awesome period. I was involved in several when Metallica played at Wembley a couple of Sundays ago. Loved every second.

Not really related to moshing, but along the line of gigs anyway, I just wanted to mention this cos it was so damn cool. I went to a concert in Donnington years ago, Monsters of Rock festival, AC/DC were headlining. Anyway, people would take beer in using these plastic containers, sort of like large milk cartons. Well, as the sun went down and people had emptied most of these, the crowd starting throwing them up in the air. It was the most awesome thing to watch from where I was standing, quite a way back.

Imagine a massive crowd, with a few hundred white cartons bouncing around the top of them all, flying up and around, being caught and thrown back up. Was awesome to see. Anyone else there for that?

Anyway. Completely unrelated. I now return you to your scheduled programming.

Heh. I was at Reading when Daphne and Celeste got bottled off. That was mad, but i cant find any videos. :( The ones of 50 Cent getting bottled off are quite funny, and thoroughly deserved too. (I sometimes wonder what goes through the heads of the Reading Fest organisers!).

Yeah the not so great thing is they tend to be full of urine as the guys can't be bothered to go to the toilets ;)

You don't know "mosh pits" until you've had seven shades of **** beaten out of you at a New Model Army gig.

Sorry for the 'Holy thread revival' but I just had to quote that for the truth!!

In the late 80's/early 90's there was nothing quite so invigorating and at the same time intimidating as experience 2000 be-clogged Militia going hell for leather at each other and in the middle of it all 3 tier human pyramids being built then at the end of the gig trying to find a floor to kip on ready for the next days hitch to the next gig. Fantastic times, I would have bruises on bruises and you just wouldn't notice.

Rather epic thread revival haha.

I (used to) love Mosh Pits. I'm not really into metal anymore, but when I was, there was nothing better than going in a mosh pit, especially with big boots on haha. More into my trance/rave music now, everyone is usually a bit more 'relaxed' on the dance floot. But when I do ever go on a student night out, and there is a pit going, always fun to jump in :D.

The thing is, kids these days wouldn't know a 'true' pit if it ripped their leg off and beat it into them with the soggy end!

I'd actually pay good money to see some little Slipknot kiddie thrown into the middle of an early 80's Dead Kennedy's pit or a Suicidal Tendencies pit!

Dude I was In tthe ST pit at download t'was m'******* awesome!!!

A friend was in this:

Crazy, 30+ secs in! :p
Lmao at him taking the **** out of emos by taking a 'myspace' photo at the end!

Mosh pits are great fun, ive never been too badly injured from them, just bruises really, the occasional cut from those bloody spiked wrist bands xD

The smaller ones tend to be the worst, cus it kinda gets more personal, someone hits you in the face, you can find them easier, seek revenge, and then it gets out of hand!

But mostly speaking its just a good laugh to go crazy. Like someone already said the first video most of that isnt mosh pits.

all i have to say is, eh? but then again im not the dancing type, whatever the "style" of dance i end up looking like a right knob.

^ Thats the beauty, your almost meant to look like an idiot when moshing. No one cares cus everyone else is going crazy too.

the problem with moshpits, is all the little scene kiddies see them as an excuse to beat up on people, when it's not about that at all. I've only ever been involved in pits at really heavy gigs because that music just fills me with so much adrenaline that I just can't help it. it's a great way to be when music that excites you like that is going on.

I can totally understand there being a pit at a Muse gig. The rhythm and tempo of some of their songs, combined with the raw emotion of Mr Bellamy would make for a great pit.

It has nothing to do with it being purely heavy music, it's whatever gets you going. pure animal instincts.

Wouldn't be in one now, though - too scared of getting my piercings ripped out, easier to have a smoke and **** out in the corner enjoying it! :D
