Most arrogant profession?

Sounds pretty reasonable to me. Not everything needs pills.

Doctor receptionists are the spawn of the devil, I swear they should be banned from giving any form of medical advice.

Went with my Gf to a walk-in centre due to eye issues which we'd waited for a day to clear up. The receptionist proceeded to tell us that my Gfs eye looked fine and we should go home and leave it another few days. Me being me told her no and we waited.

Long story short, doctor went mental that we'd waited a day to see them, immediately booked an emergency appointment at hospital (late Friday night after work) who proceeded to advise us that if we'd waited any longer my Gf would have been at serious risk of loss of sight.

Like a true Englishman I then wrote a polite, yet annoyed letter of complaint to the walk-in centre to say my displeasure at both the receptionist overstepping their responsibilities and for their dismissive and aloof attitude to a situation they weren't qualified to advise on.

Doctors? That's laughable, they're in a profession which involves caring for others.
It's not arrogance, it's the fact that they do know MUCH more than you do when it comes to healthcare.

Bankers and lawyers are by far the most arrogant people on the planet!

A lot of doctors are not arrogant actually, some are pretty kool, surgeons tho... and also from my own experience and without just lumping all doctors into it, a lot of doctors are just career driven they couldnt actually give a toss about the patient really, they just care as it effects their career.

Anyone in a proper profession such as medicine, law, finance etc - it's not arrogance just confidence in the evident superiority over other more menial professions.

Professional forum Atheists,
the way they cut-n-paste large chunks of the Internet to prove a point that nobody cares about but makes them feel superior for some reason.

Please just die, all of you.

Bankers know more about the banking system and lawyers know more about the law. What was your point again?

I don't mind arrogant people who have earned the right to be arrogant. However, if I'm in Hollister or an Audi showroom and there is an arrogant person serving me, I could just laugh in their face for a number of reasons.

I agree. A fastjet pilot is "allowed" a certain degree of arrogance I think, it takes a particular person to do that job. Same goes for F1 driver, Doctor, leading scientist, and any other proffession that is essentially a top 1%. It is typically English to frown upon arrogance, but that doesn't mean arrogance is necessarily a bad thing.
