Most arrogant profession?

Teachers.

Not all, but a large portion think they are something special.

Most teachers are ******* useless. A select few are amazing.
For example they get DEU at Alevel, study some tripe at Derby then slap a PGCE on top.
They then go to teach English to 12 year olds when they can't even spell themselves :(.

Why the hate for medical doctors? They go through hell and back to get their qualifications.
I thought it was the other way around. The doctor says do XYZ but the patient, who has no knowledge of healthcare 'knows best because it is their body'.

Out of interest, why do people find doctors arrogant? Is this when visiting in the surgery or general pub chat arrogance?

I have to say, from experience, I find that Surgeons are quite arrogant.
The Doctors/Consultants where I work are not in the least bit arrogant, they are all professional and highly approachable.

Ooh, where do you work?
I'm in Governance Audit & Risk at the UHNS.

ANYWAY, before the job I do now I used to do Corporate Induction and Statutory and Mandatory training for the UHNS staff and easily the most arrogant workers are the sessions I did with Young Doctors.
At one point I had to get one of the Executives (initials RCH if you work there) to come down and he tore into them.
I was doing Manual Handling training with around 60 Medical Students last week and they were all kittens.

I'm speaking from an I.T Support perspective :) They aren't the only ones guilty of thinking they know it all and they aren't all the same, I know.

Forum user in sweeping generalisation shocker :p

I couldn't name the most arrogant profession, as every time I thought of an example of one I could think of someone in that profession that wasn't arrogant.

I have to agree GP receptionists (at least the ones I have contact with) are miserable and rude a lot of the time. It's almost a pre-requisite of the job. I'm sure they're not all bad.

Door to door sales people (or 'marketing' in the jobs papers) I find to be obnoxious douche bags, but I'm not sure if I'd class that as arrogant.

Ofsted inspectors / school consultants - "we got out of the profession 5 years ago, but feel best placed to tell you what to do". Closest to arrogant I know.

PS: I'm a teacher, but I know how you feel network managers / support staff / technicians. You do take some crap of certain staff members, but remember, they don't all know everything about computers and are scared you're spinning them a lie. I did IT support a year before teacher training, so I know what you mean. :)

Sales people - the men think they are God's gift because they take home £50k.

This, espically in Business 2 Business companies.

"I want this laptop fixed right now, don't give a **** if you're doing something for the Director i'm closing a £4M deal!!!!!!!!!!!!"

No you're not you liying scambag
