Moterway speed limits.

My thoughts on this speed limit is not really important but I think this might be of interest (maybe not)

A few years ago during the summer myself and my girlfriend and her family went to the coast for a holiday. Towards the middle of the week we had to drive back to Derby to pick up my gf sister. I went with the father in law in his Mazda 626 2.0i. We went the motorway route. During the run home on the motorway we rarely dropped below 100-105. It was a sunny and hot day and there was other traffic on the road which I can say was going as fast as us if not faster.

We hit 125 on a few occasions too and still got overtaken.

My pointless point im making is on our way home to derby 90% of the cars were traveling over 100 mph. When you are all going at the same speed it doesnt feel any different to driving at 70 with all the other drivers, to me it was the same and just as safe..

A wet road has water on it and a dry road doesnt

Maybe if it had been raining ealier, and then stopped, How long is it wet for?

Would never work, just to have it at 80 mph and let people drive to the conditions is better, as people shouldnt really drive at 70 now if its pouring down.

Im not from the UK but ill put my little idea in:)

Why dont they have active speed limits? Ive seen some down here on the motorway.
What they use are Speed limit signs that have LEDs in them and they can change the speed limit to suit the conditions:)

If they did have the speed limit 100mph there sometimes they should enforce speeding fines, even if its 1mph over the limit because not as many people would want to go over.
But that should only be for roads if they were 100mph
