Mother Mine - Extreme Mining Setup

Is this a long term thing? If so then I'd look at putting in floor vents (cellar ceiling) as you'll be able to use some of the heat to warm up your house, reducing heating costs!

No point throwing heat away!

On that thought, big fan drawing cold external air into the cellar, vents (or vents with fans in) exhausting that air into the house. Assuming the air gets warm enough of course. It should do, given that most of the power going in comes out as heat. The ideal would be to have the whole house as a closed loop, feeding the air from the house back in to the cellar to be re-heated. The only issue is that the gpu's (and the house!) would probably get way too hot!

Yeah, I was thinking in the case of not bringing external air in to the cellar. I suspect that even bringing the cold air in from outside, with a bit of thought put into the arrangement of vents and hardware you could do quite nicely out of it.

Scrypt Mining likes RAM because it allows for a higher thread concurrency. One of my current systems is limited to how 'intense' it can mine because of its lack of RAM.
The SSD uses less power than the HDD - only reason. Linux is very good and seems stable though as you can't easily get it to mine to multiple pools I favour Windows.

My costs have been just over £5000 currently. That's including everything from all the hardware, the networking stuff, the fitting of new plug sockets, the PCI risers.

Power wise I am probably looking at over £300 per month. Will do a full power test when I am up and running.

As promised...

When you get a chance, can you or anyone who have bought the Powercolor Radeon R9 280X TurboDUO tell me how long the card is? I have the Sapphire Radeon 280x Toxic Edition which is 12 inches in length and that doesnt fit in my case, so I'm hoping this is smaller in size.

You are not allowed to quote images!

NO IMAGE QUOTING - IMAGE QUOTING WILL RESULT IN A THREE DAY SUSPENSION. IMAGE QUOTING A POST IN THE POST BELOW IT WILL RESULT IN A MONTH SUSPENSION - YOUR SIGNATURE WILL ALSO BE CHANGED TO REFLECT YOUR MISTAKES

Liking the Antec PSU, got a bit of a soft spot for their kit tbh...

Also, the back plates on GPU's are a necessity these days imho give the weight of the cards, flextastic without them

Do you think you will make more than it costs to run the rigs ?

There would be absolutely no point me doing this if it didn't.

great pics mate :)

2 qustions if you dont mind me asking

1. what hash rates are the PowerColors giving you?
2. Where did you get the red tubing from?

Sure. Currently about 730kH/s out of the box. When I can be bothered to spend a day tweaking, maybe they can do more.

Aluminium ware from a company called Aluminium Warehouse who cut it all to size. Very hassle-free process. Google them :)
