There's no MotoGP thread for the season?

Shame on you all!

So the Honda's are dominant so far in free practice/quals and it appears races.
Lorenzo has the ability to ride clever and not rely on all the speed and has the edge in the slower more corner based tracks.
Rossi is still not 100% fit on a bike that isn't complete.

And some of the satellite bikes aren't that far off the pace.

Stoner wins Qatar quite comfortably, Lorenzo celebrates second like a win.
Jerez is full of spins and tumbles and a completely unpredictable set of results and podiums.

Stoner gets taken out by a charging Rossi who over cooks it, he can carry on forcing Stoner to retire from the race and Lorenzo grabs the win.

Season is going to be damn tight and could be an absolute corker.

Did anyone catch it today?

I was a bit gutted with the outcome. Rossi could have easily won the race but made a silly mistake. Simoncelli then managed to throw the win away as the only other rider on a similar pace to Rossi. Of all people Lorenzo had to win.
 
they should hose down the tracks down every week because that was a bloody great race to watch

the doctor showed why hes the best today like , 12th to momentarily 1st in only a handful of laps , knew he was never making it round that corner but it was funny seeing him try and wiping out stoner in the process
 
If only Rossi had been more patient, race was there for him to take, I don't think he'll get the chance to win for the rest of the season unless ducati can sort that bike out.
 
How do people view his chances on that bike? They reckon he won't be 100% fit until May/June time which by then he could be quite a way behind.

He has shown today he has it still but the bike is lacking, its only a 2 year deal at Ducati, is that enough time to sort it out and really compete for the top? Got to think testing for this season was really hampered by his shoulder.
 
I think Rossi has a good chance of getting into the top five this year as by the time the bike and him are ready, it will probably be too late. However, once the bike and him are A1 (and I truly believe they will be) nothing will stop him.
He was promising today, but there were a lot exterior factors affecting the race but him being who he is, enabled him to capitalise. If that race was in the dry the story would have been very different.
Next Year he'll do it. :)
 
lol at stoner saying that to a 9 times world champ
when he has won as much he can say that but till then its a bit silly
not like stoner hasnt made any mistakes over the years
before he went to ducati he couldnt even stay on a bike in most races
 
Good to see Rossi on an uncompetitive machine, it shows how much of an advantage a decent bike really is.

Rossi only caught up imo, because the wet conditions gave him the chance to. If it were dry, they he'd have had no chance @ Jerez (on a bike little changed chassis wise from the one Stoner won races on last year).
Proof?. Just look at the qualifying/practice times in the dry.
