MOTO GP 2011

if I was English, I wouldn't support Toseland.

Peace.

But we love a tryer...and he plays piano too!!! :D. Feel gutted for Crutchlow slipping off towards the end of the race though...and Edwards for popping his engine...and for Marco, well, that hairstyle just needs to be on the podium...he'd be taller than the flagpoles!!!
:D
And i can't resist but add...

...still makes me lol now...
:D

I like Stoner - I cant understand really why he gets the moaner tag. He doesn't moan anymore than any other rider. I like Rossi ,but look at how he started throwing his toys out of the pram as he gets challenged by Lorenzo in the garage.

Wasn't this down to Lorenzo' side of the garage wanting Rossi' data? And for them to share it? Didn't Rossi build that bike to what it is now? I can see why he would want a wall up and not to share stuff with his #1 challenge.

If you put that much effort and skill in to development why give it away?

Rossi testing the new 1000cc GP12 bike at Jerez ;)

Obvious changes is the side exhaust and no doubt lots we cant see.

This is what I thought that Jerry Burgess and Rossi were brought on board for.

No point in spending money on an obsolete bike as Ducati don't have the money. Besides that Honda are doing a Chelski and buying the title this year ;)

Because you're riding for a team? And it wasn't a case of sharing data - Rossi already stopped that the season before. It was an ultimatum that either Lorenzo went or he did. Strangely he never made that ultimatum when his team mate wasn't beating him ;)

Weekend was quite mad!

Simoncelli is crazy fast at times so near Stoner in the ual came out of no where that one.
Lorenzo in a strop after qual and is no where near the pace of the Honda's.
Rossi qualified in 9th looking right off the pace.
Crutchlow in 7th I think it was?

Race day...

Stoner runs away with it may as well have been his own race.
Simoncelli setting fastest laps quite early on gets past Lorenzo and Pedrosa and then a really strange accident that is very hard to judge who is at fault!
Simoncelli given a ride through penalty?!?!? Very harsh! Goes from 2nd to 6th. Feel quite gutted for him there, should have been penalised at the end of the race if anything once a review has been made, Rossi and Stoner same thing no ride through for Rossi.
Pedrosa with a broken right collar bone.
Rossi mugging Lorenzo and almost Dovi, ends up 3rd, first podium on the Ducati.
Both the TECH 3 and Pramac bikes have issues
And Elias doesn't finish last :D

Great day of racing, the Honda's basically look untouchable already so so fast and they say the Yamaha is the better handling bike? Not seeing to much of that at the minute they can't even get close to the pace of those Honda's.
Battle is going to be between Stoner and Lorenzo with a tough battle for 3rd to 6th with Pedrosa, Rossi, Dovi and Sic all fighting it out.

Can I get more info on the penalty and controversy. I just want a fair cut down of what happened, without the bias of certain sites. Anyone fill me in.

Well Simonceli had been ahead of pedrosa but pedrosa had just retaken the place with more speed in the straight and then took the inside line of the left hand bend, Simonceli came around the outside of him exiting the corner ahead of pedrosa. Pedrosa then turned the bike to the right for the immediatly following right hand corner and struck the back wheel of simoncelis bike with his front.

From my point of view Pedrosa had the choice to not turn into Simonceli and should have given the place instead of slamming himself hard into the tarmac but Simonceli was very aggressive on the overtake and his appearence on that piece of road must have come as a surprise to Pedrosa.

Lorenzo was the big winner from the crash, gets an ok 4th instead of a bad 6th.

Its very tough to call, Simoncelli could have given the spot up but then Pedrosa was late on the brakes trying to jam it in the inside.
At the actual corner I think Simoncelli was actually a little bit in front but on the outside trying to cut it in.

Pedrosa could have made that corner, he chose to sit up and hit the anchors which resulted in a crash, the same incident occured with Rossi later on, and what do you know nobody crashed.... Having spent many years on the BSB circuit, and as a bike rider, I am sure Pedrosa "****" himself and crashed as a result.

I wasn't happy with the punishment at all, don't really understand how you can get rear ended and be at fault, also felt Pedrosa didn't need to turn when he did to make the bend, Simonceli hadn't started to turn and he was going faster.

I thought it was pretty unfair that Simoncelli got a punishment for that, he rode a fantastic race and would have deserved a 2nd place finish.

The Rossi/Dovi incident wasn't exactly the same; Rossi didn't try to get back on the racing line. He gave Dovizioso room knowing he would have the racing line into the next corner. Looking at the onboard from Pedrosa, Simo does come very close and they touch sides before the wheels connected.

Even though I'd pin most of the blame on Simoncelli, a penalty of any sort was wrong. That happens a few times every race, usually without incident. A combination of it being the "reckless" Simoncelli and the "frail" Pedrosa has led to a harsh decision. It also gives Lorenzo something concrete to play mind games with, in a race where everyone will conveniently forget how he barged Dovi out of the way to make it into the Dunlop chicane.

Hard to say really they both didn't give up the position so a crash was inevitable, a penalty however is ridiculous this is racing!

Danny had the inside line initially but Simoncelli outbraked him and was already turning in, with Pedrosa's angle/speed he was going to run on but had nowhere to go but into the back of Simoncelli.

I initially thought Simoncelli was way too aggressive, but after watching the replay from behind them, Dani appears to be struggling to get it stopped.

I think neither was willing to give up the corner.

I do feel sorry for Simoncelli seems like one hell of a talent just a little unfortunate and bit mental at times :D

Funny about Lorenzo having a go though when you look 2-3 seasons back he was coming off quite often as well trying to keep up with the others.

Is anyone going to Silverstone btw?

I am appaled about the Simoncelli incident and was going to make a thread dedicated to it actually. They have opened a can of worms and will fuel the cry babies corner now (Lorenzo, Stoner etc). I had big respect for Lorenzo before he started crying about Simoncelli. Not now. Shall we start playing "after you sir" into the corners at MotoGP races? These are the fastest guys on 2 wheels in the world and we want racing. We got that, and then they ruined it. A dark day for motogp turning towards in race punishment with no review. They have made complaints about him because they think he has no right to be fast and aggressive being a Satellite team and suddenly finding such form last year and this. If I was him I would have stayed out till the end in protest and appealed, keeping 2nd place. I do not know anybody that thinks he was at fault having spoken to various people about it.
