MOTO GP 2011

Was there today to see this, was great to see it live but it is a bit harder to keep track of all the timings as you can't quite see everything.

See the TV screen with Cal came off collar bone and possible concussion I think they said.

Have to say that until you see the bikes in the flesh you don't get a sense of how fast they! Really is something else and the Honda's sound incredible you can tell just by watching them leave the corner and the sound they are quicker than anything else out there.

What I did find amusing is all around the track are little stalls from the different teams/rider selling merchandise and most of them were quite empty not many people buying anything.... except the Rossi ones! Swear everyone you go past people are waiting to buy stuff and it aint cheap either :o

Casey is looking good. I hope the race is entertaining and obviously that the best rider there wins.

Looks like its going to be staceys again, unless the heavens open up tommorow...

Casey, his name is Casey. I was going to say welcome back from your suspension but it seems you're suspended again *shrugs*.

I was hoping Crutchlow could race but I'm not holding my breath. Shame he spilled it at his home race infront of all his fans. Probably his best chance of points this season with some other riders out and his experience to see him through.

I'd feel so embarrassed if that happened. Really disappointing for the home fans.

I see Stacey has already had a moan at Hayden for getting in his way during FREE PRACTICE.

What a tool.

^ As above, his name is Casey. Generally insults are reserved for the ones who name call but I'll leave that there. Care to explain what Casey has done wrong(without the bias of course)?

Also it's good to see Casey wishing Cal well

"It was almost a fairytale how well he was going and it's not fair for him."

"He's been riding really well and he has impressed me no end. This weekend he was one of the faster guys and I have no doubt that he would have been pushing for the front row.

"It's been such an unlucky run of injuries and for Cal at his home grand prix it couldn't have gone much worse. My best wishes go out to him."

Oh don't start again dude...

I just want to confirm if we can use Stacey

No that's fine. Unless they join the forum :p

Just chill a little maybe??? Dear god, its a nickname...
:)

I'm not starting anything. I'm allowed to remind others of his real name (as confirmed by a mod) and not a name used to make fun of him (I respect the bloke and all riders not to drag their names through the mud.)

I'm pretty chill. I do like to highlight others for being petty and disgraceful though :)

He'll never change...

Unlucky cal bah.

Roll on the wsbk, motogp is starting to suck big time.

Haha motoGP is fine. A good mix of riders are in the hunt. I bet if Cal was leading it would be even better, right?

What do you mean unlucky? Did Crutchlow make a mistake of his own fault or was there a technical issue with his bike which was not of his own fault?

I like Spies and Pedrosa so I try to refer to them by their genuine given names. Even Rossi who I find over steps over the boundaries I still refer to by his given name.

I tell you what though, if everyone uses a nickname for all riders and not Casey, I'll be happy to not remind you all of their petty ways. Sounds fair right? I mean, if it's all in good spirit why not have nicknames for all the riders?

Okay, i'll do you a deal...everytime i mention Stacey, i'll mention the goat as well...hows about that?. Fair enough???
:)

I don't think it's the same. You see, you've given someone a derogatory nickname "Stacey" for Casey yet for Rossi you refer to him as the "Greatest of all time/GOAT". How about you find a derogatory name for Rossi and play it even :)

All i'm talking about is nicknames, given to riders by the masses, the thousands of people who follow the sport and watch it every weekend...i'm not making it derogatory or making them up myself?

There are nicknames for Rossi too, most of which involve the word cheat plus a derogatory slang for Italians. I've never stooped that low or yelled a racist taunt. It's kind of weird though as many of the people who yelled the taunt were Spanish *shrugs*.

Even the commentators were having a dig at Stacey for his moaning. :D

If they were making fun of a rider due to his name (Casey, not Stacey) that's pretty pathetic of the commentary team. Though I can see where you would get it from.

The commentators I heard were speaking of how big a disappointment the Crutchlow spill is. His biggest chance to impress and he blew it. They were comparing him to Toseland (it wasn't a nice comparison either).

What's your take on it? You think of Toseland was there he would have performed better and not thrown it down the road in front of his fans, friends and family?

The doesn't ring a bell tbh mate

As for Cal, yup he buggered it up but he's done how well on tracks he's never ridden before?. And as for Toseland, iirc i think in his first season he actually did better than Cal is doing now?. It was when the tyre change come in he couldn't get on with it...

It's pretty sad that you're trying to bait us by making fun of Cal having a bad crash.

And don't try to deny thats not what you're doing.

Probably not as popular as the Stoner nicknames but still a nickname none the less :)

Bait? No, not at all. If anything you've been trying to bait me with all these petty nicknames. In fact, mocking someone because of their name is pretty sad (in my books anyways).

What I'm after is an exciting but a fair GP. Having more quality riders in the mix in what is already a short field, especially now with injuries means less overtaking and for the most part action.

I do want to know one thing though. Why was his crash "unlucky"? Was the accident not his fault? Was there a mechanical fault with the bike? That would be unlucky to me. Either way, I (just like Casey) wish him a speedy recovery so he can compete soon. Home fans must be gutted not seeing him race tomorrow but he'll be more gutted with a DNS next to his name for his home GP.

Cheating greaser i think you said yourself?

I didn't want to come across as being rude. At the place where I was at it seemed the tamest of all the comments when he took out other riders. Anyways, I refer to him as Rossi.

Why not discuss this weekend rather than trying to go down the wrong path. If you are ever confused over the name, I'll be there to correct and remind you :)

This post does not revolve around you at all, Cal fell off all on his own, as did Stacey in Valencia 2009 before the race had even started...even though you took offence at that as well iirc. Ever thought that people on here might be Italian before you posted that insulting remark mate?

My reply is that this post does not revolve around you at all. If Cal fell off on his own why is he "unlucky"? Also the name is Casey, not stacey (just a petty nickname).

You should think before you post though. It's very hypocritical of you to use a derogatory name and then criticise others for doing the same. I'm not surprised you like Rossi.

I can't say I'm a fan of this, or what's written on his helmet (if it's still there).

EDIT: Anywho, agree to disagree then :)
Hope for a good race tomorrow. Even though your local boy is out I hope you guys still watch and don't switch to the F1.

Very blunt and unique. Always pushes the boundaries, especially with what is written on his helmet. (I wonder if he still has it written there).

What *** **** are you going on about now dude??? Chill out ffs!!!

Relax dude. Nothing's wrong.

I'm saying I'm not surprised Rossi has such a following. Many people love him for his take no prisoners, cold and clinical style and often cheeky attitude. You yourself have mentioned it in previous posts. I just think he can go too far sometimes, on track, and off.

Hopefully this one won't be misunderstood :)

EDIT: I should say the finger wasn't aimed at you, rather, I'm just showing a bit of Rossi's attitude (which in this case, I am no fan of).
