MOTO GP 2011

Not the best week for my MotoGP fantasy picks. I was cheering more for Jorge than Stoner. Good performance for Spies, shame I never picked it (had him in 5th).

How did you guys go with your picks?

Didn't really bother picking tbh. It was always a given though that Stacey was gonna run away with it if he got clear...i would have liked to of seen Marco get in front at the start really, if him and the Yamahas could have made a bit more of a dice of it we may of actually got a race!!!

Ah well, at least the TT's on later...
:D

MotoGP is in danger of becoming as pants as F1 :(. Still, at least the first two races were worth watching...

I'm not sure what they could do to make it more exciting though. I don't want to take anything away from Stacey, as he is a fantastic rider, but that Honda is by far the best machine on the track this year. I suppose it does make a big difference when you have so many of them in the grid, sharing data.

Anyway, great ride from Stacey. Just as I predicted. Awesome to watch him controlling those slides so delicately, yet throwing it about coming out of the corners. Superb.

The slow-mo's were good to watch weren't they?. And without trying to sound pretentious, do you think Yamaha may be missing a bit of JB genius on the M1 for that last 'nth of a second?. Although i think its more the fact that Honda will throw everything at the grid to secure an 800cc title, like they did with the 250's last year...
:)

A bit disappointed that Marko wasn't up the top fighting. Not sure what happened to him, he seemed to get bogged down at the start but then never really showed the pace he had in qualifying.

Yep, TT tonight. Hope Guy can finally get a win.

Casey's ride was good but given the home crowd and how strong Jorge has been so far this season (and continuing on from last years bike), you didn't think it was Jorge's race to lose (aimed at everyone)?

It's a shame that Dani wasn't able to race as well.

With Dani there it would have been a good race for sure. As for Lorenzo, what did they say...the Hondas/Stacey were all around their qualifying times from last year...he was 3/4 of a second slower than 2010?

The main problem is a lack of numbers on the grid. Everyone who made the distance in that race was guaranteed points. I could have ridden round at the back and picked up 2 points in that race! :p

Really hoping the trend of the committee deciding the race results is stopped dead after the terrible decision in the 125's. Much more of that and riders are only going to be allowed to overtake if they are given the go ahead from race control and a speed boost is provided down the straight. Hmmm that sounds familiar . . . . .

The British GP at Silverstone is fast approaching and it's looking pretty good for our riders. Rain is a distinct possibility and will hopefully show the British riders home knowledge is worth it's weight in gold.

Looking at Friday practise Danny Webb was 8th fastest and Danny Kent 13th fastest. Hopefully Taylor Mackenzie and Harry Stafford manage to work the wrinkles out as they are both well down the table currently.

In Moto2 Scott Redding is fastest by over half a second! Bradley Smith is going well putting in a good time to grab 7th fastest. Kev Coghlan is down in 19th after first practise so lets hope he can start to build the pace up.

In the MotoGP Cal Crutchlow was 6th fastest today but still has over a second to make up on Casey Stoner's best lap.

Stoner has raced in England previously so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a good result here if he can manage to hold onto his bike. Will Edwards race?
