One of the other riders thought it had been red flagged due to rain, so it's possible the track could have been damp and he just lost control.

Marco Simoncelli more than a rising star & definitely a future Champion, He brought a breath of fresh air into Moto GP & made me Buzz every time I watched him ride, Sport needs characters like him, Gutted.

Terrible news, always exciting to watch. The last two races I've watched live on TV have both had awful fatal accidents now.

Me too, I've only watched motogp a few years but loved Marco's aggressive riding, even more so when it upset the big names. He'd really matured in the second half of this year, I was hoping and expecting a great season from him next year, sadly that is not to be. He's a huge loss to racing.

Terrible too for Rossi and Edwards but I don't think there's anything they could have done, just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
