MotoGP 2013

Just like last time then! What is it with Cal and not signing the paper work?

last time wasn't cals fault.
he waited for the paper work but ducati never sent it, ducati signed dovi.

the offer from Yamaha ends this weekend, just hope he sigh for them.
its a contract with Yamaha themselves but staying with tech 3, its only 1 year though.

update on dani P it seems he has been riding with a full fractured collarbone and not just small crack like first thought

new update to the rules for 2014

Technical Regulations MotoGP Class - Effective 2014

Electronics (ECU) Regulations

A detailed specification and permitted options were confirmed.

The use of the official MotoGP ECU, including an internal datalogger, and the official MotoGP software package is compulsory.

Maximum fuel capacity is 24 litres.

Maximum number of engines per rider, per season, is 12.

Factory Status

Each Manufacturer, (including motorcycle manufacturers and chassis manufacturers), can choose to enter up to 4 riders for the season who will participate with “Factory” status.

The use of the official MotoGP ECU is compulsory. However manufacturers are permitted to develop and use their own software.

Maximum fuel capacity is 20 litres.

Maximum number of engines per rider, per season, is five. (Nine Engines for the first year of participation by a new manufacturer).

Engines are subject to the engine homologation regulations which mandate frozen engine design and internal parts. (New Manufacturers are not subject to frozen engine design and internal parts in their first season of participation).

It's a shame that Cal appears so money driven... I mean it's not as if he's moving to a competitive machine... Would I do the same... I'm not sure... With Cal's talent he could be World Champ on the right bike.

I'm sure if they dangled 5mil under your nose, you wouldn't be so righteous.

Good luck to him.
Though no doubt most agree with that, surely Cal was quite a hot ticket this year and no doubt would have had a better factory ride/paycheck than Ducati?

Apart from Marquez, Cals been very good and more importantly consistent on a slightly poorer machine...

At end of day, he will only have himself to blame if Ducati kills his future prospects - lets hope he can Stoner that bike around a circuit...

ps3ud0

just read that and its not how I read it on motogp website
it says
Each Manufacturer, (including motorcycle manufacturers and chassis manufacturers), can choose to enter up to 4 riders for the season who will participate with "Factory" status.

say nothing about it allowing teams to run 4 riders in 1 team

I think if I ever thought I was able to be world champ then I wouldn't. Not yet at least. Tech 3 have been pretty crap to him though regarding the whole Espargaro fiasco, maybe he's just sick of Tech3, doesn't ever feel like he'll be world champ and would rather some financial security. If that's his head then I'd do the same.

to be fair its not tech 3's fault, they have always said they want to keep cal, its Yamaha that are making tech 3 take Espargaro

Seems more and more likely Cal will be at Ducati, good financially for him I guess but not sure what he hopes to achieve there position wise as no one else has managed anything -

DUCATI are set to announce within the next 24 hours that Cal Crutchlow has signed a two year contract with them according to Spanish motorcycle website motocuatro.com, however this is not official.

Cal Crutchlow has signed a two-year deal to ride in MotoGP for the factory Ducati team in 2014 and 2015.

The deal, to be announced on Friday, will see the British rider in a factory team for the first time in MotoGP.
Crutchlow on his future

"At the moment, my career seems to be on the up and I'm getting closer to the guys at the front and starting to challenge for wins.

"I don't want to take a step back, so the next thing is to be in a factory team, but it has to be the one with the right machinery."

Read more in Crutchlow's last BBC Sport blog

Crutchlow, 27, who has taken four podiums with his Tech 3 team this year, had initially wanted to stay with Yamaha but wanted assurances of a factory ride, which were not given.

Crutchlow will replace 2006 world champion Nicky Hayden at Ducati.

There are only three full factory teams in MotoGP - at Ducati, Yamaha and Repsol Honda.

These six bikes benefit from updates and higher spec machinery before the other teams, who lease their bikes from the factories.

Everyone seems to be assuming next years bike will be bad by default.

Next year could be the year Audi's money turns into results? They could pull a Brawn? The bike might suit Cal? ......the variables are endless.

I hope it goes well for the lad, seems like a nice guy.
