The F8 must be a kick in the teeth to 488 owners, what's it been 4 years and it's superceded? Feels like they knew they couldn't get another 4 years out of the 488 so have just done the minimum amount to say it's a 'new' model while they delay the hybrid successor.

328 - 1985-89
348 - 1989-95
355 - 1995-99
360 - 2000-04
430 - 2005-09
458 - 2009-15
488 - 2015-19

So it's not as if the 488 was massively short-lived in comparison to previous models :) If anything, it's that the 458 was freakishly long-lived compared with the others!

Fair enough! Maybe life is just whizzing by for me now I’m an old fart. I would be pretty miffed if I was still waiting for F8 coupe and they announce the spider though. It feels like they’re doing exactly what McLaren get criticised so much for, banging out models left and right.
