Motors YouTube Videos

Funny that, I am about to do a review of mine myself. Have been practicing :) a lot of 458 videos are older now

Great stuff, 458 has been getting a revamp of youtube reviews recently as it has become very popular and in demand again mainly because of the exact reasons mentioned in that video and was a big reason why I got one because it is fun at legal speeds whereas the modern stuff has become really boring and you can still push it on the public road quite hard and not be doing double/triple legal limts and I just love how the car feels. :)

I managed to get a bit more comfortable with mine last week and did indeed open her up on a country lane. I was lifting off but it just wanted more and more. Perhaps its been a while since i drove something that handles so well but the front end turn in and direction change is beautiful. I think i had what feels like aero kicking in.

It fitted in my garage too... But its very tight each side

All modern Ferrari's have hyper alert steering and incredibly sensitive throttles (NA) which makes them feel very alive and scalpel precision and it can take a bit of getting used too, extremely well balanced cars with incredible front-end. Once you get used to it and dial it in or find a big open space set the traction to SCT off which is a little like a drift mode on newer cars but more basic but it will let you slide the car around and it is at this point you wonder how Ferrari did it as they all of a sudden feel front engine and can do really progressive slides and very controllable which as you will know coming from the R8 which can not be slid around or not easy and can become spikey is really where the 458 chassis shines over a lot of other mid-engined cars.

As I say enjoy it mate as its not a one trick pony car as it gives it all, proper drivers car, supercar thrills, daily possible, reliable, stupidly fast, feels like a race car on the road or it can be docile and just potter along happily. The only downside I'd say is they are thirsty but you kind of expect that anyway.

Gotta say having seen them in flesh the F8 certainly fixed the downsides in looks department compared to 488 as for me personally I always found the 488 a big step back in looks compared to the 458 whereas the F8 looks proper and glad to hear from reviewer Ferrari are still making even the turbo cars fun at legal speeds, saying it offers more fun at legal speeds than an MX5 is a massive plus as I can confirm from driving some of the other marques they are pretty dull at legal speeds, still 458 every time for me and its why I took one over a similar priced 488.

Hopefully our trip to Italy/Ferrari will be back on next Summer and I can see how the F8 drives for myself:

I may have just turned 35 and now drive a diesel Mondeo estate but I can't help but think that "meet" spot is cringeworthily daft. Some of the driving is just awful and asking for tragedy. There's far too much non-attending public for that idiocy including families cycling amongst the normal traffic. I used to bounce my EP3 off the limiter and slide around a roundabout with my MX5 back in the day but there's a time and a place and that wasn't it on both the videos I saw :/
