Mk.1 shell all day long for me. Cargasm!

I was watching this the other day, my mum had a Mk2 when I was a kid and that thing took us all over South Africa. Canary yellow 1.6 in absolute immaculate condition. Very fond memories of that car, and the styling is just so honest in today's world.

My Granddad had an immaculate Mk.1 Van, he'd put a couple of bubble windows in each side panel and he'd engineered a way of easily attaching/removing two seats in the rear compartment (before elf & saftey). That was left to me when he passed away, and put into storage at a friends farm. Then a few years later a friend of the family got his Sapphire Cosworth totalled, luckily he walked away with scratches and a few broken bones. The entire rear end from behind the front seats was totalled, however, the engine was undamaged bar being knocked about a bit. You see where this is going?

Never happened though, some scrotes nicked the van, ragged it around and then wrapped it around a lamppost. It's my 'what if' moment.

Finally a proper docu about my #1 favourite car of modern times, this is the lotto win instant day 1 buy and I wouldnt care how much someone wanted for one, it would be bought :o

Do agree with him, having owned one, its the best Mpowered BMW ever made, because its so damn good on road and huge fun on track. Manual conversion looks sweet too, but I've never had an issue with SMG but it is a dated system which dates the car, whereas a manual is timeless. Closest thing in BMW's line up today is a M2C, but I'd take a CSL everyday over one.

One day...

A large portion of the appeal of the CSL is the induction noise. Watch any video of one and the comments are littered with how amazing the induction noise is.

For those who can't get a CSL and don't want to spend the £3000+ on getting a CSL style airbox fitted then the annoying map that comes with it because you no longer have a MAF, then a simple Eventuri from Evolve is all you need for under £800 and can swap it in within an hour for getting close to CSL induction sound without replacing the plenum too.

Removing the sound deadening pad from the bonnet lid will also let some more sound escape as the CSL doesn't have one and a 2005 or 2006 model even better because they share the CSL exhaust manifold too.

That LFA vid is awesome
What a car it is!

You know when you start something and regret it instantly? Suspension does that for me...!

Budget race series is on though! Should be a short build mind. Already doing the next video now and should be cracking along and out on the track as soon as possible! Perfect starter car for my wife to learn how to drive round a track too. I just hope she gets the bug :P

The LFA is no longer the dream single car garage. It is one of these Theons, rebuilt in Britain, too

I'd have to get a private plate resembling GREYJOY if I ever win lotto on one of those :p
