Holy crap, thats a bit mad! Wonder what caused it to escalate?

Wonder why the farmer, ahem, flipped out?

As Simon said, chav blocked his gateway, refused to move car, told farmer to **** off. farmer rang police and said they were too busy to attend. Told police that "they soon will be" and when and got his fork lifter. Police had to attend anyway.

Slight overreaction perhaps, but amusing nonetheless

The only overreaction side to it - another day there could have been a perfectly reasonable explanation, though clearly doesn't seem to be one that day.

Had an absolute day of it on the roads myself today :( as much me misjudging situations (dunno if it is the mugginess but really struggled today just feeling a bit out of it slow reacting even when trying to concentrate, etc.) as it was other people being unreasonable but definitely could have gone a lot smoother if people had been clearer about their intentions.

Not exactly rigorous testing, but enough for me to find it interesting. How much weight can you fairly easily remove from a not wildly unusual road car (a rather well worn M3 E46) without replacing parts other than seats and sunroof and how much difference does it make to acceleration and braking, 0-60 and 60-0?

For anyone who wants just the answers:

Weight and acceleration improved by ~12%, braking improved by ~17% but wasn't conclusively only due to weight reduction).

A superb comment in the comments section: "you forgot to take off the brakes, those will just slow you down".

I stumbled across this channel by seeing a video about the Austin Allegro in the "maybe related videos" list on Youtube while I was watching something else. The All Aggro was the most derided car from my childhood but I was too young back then to have known anything much about it, so I thought I'd give the video a watch. Well made video, apparently factually reliable, a style of presentation that I like and a good level of detail for a fairly short (20 mins) overview. Also, thank goodness, none of the currently (and inexplicably) fashionable tendency to have irrelevant music played constantly over the video like some sort of nuisance neighbour simulator. So I watched some more of the videos on the channel, including this one which is about the BMW C1, an apparently sound idea that was very well implemented but failed because hardly anyone wanted a compromise solution that had some of the disadvantages of a car and some of the disadvantages of a motorbike. Good idea on paper, not a good idea in reality.

Every car manufacturer in the world except Dodge: "We're only going to be building electric cars soon to help save the environment."

Dodge: *lifts head up from railing coke off of a stripper's body* "Yeah? Well we're going to hold drag races, burnout competitions and drifting rides on Woodward Avenue."

Really missed this last year when the pandemic forced it to be cancelled. Glad that it's back :)
