Big power :D Power Engineering offered packages from a little over the stock 130hp to over 500hp for the big money builds, mine was under 200hp but with an xr3i gearbox went like the clappers, watching that video and the torque steer brought back some memories, was a fun car and had some great fun in it in my younger years :D

Didn't power engineering just overbore the stock 1.6 CVH? I remember them going bang a lot. The 2.1 ZVH was the common and best swap, same as the video.
I miss them dearly!

They had all sorts of packages, with mild tweaks to blueprinted 1.6ltr, then 1.8+ltr and then 2.0ltr swaps etc.

Mine went bang in the end, I did get it running again and px it, I checked the reg a while back and its last MOT failure was a few years and the failure list was savage.
 
The manual shifter decomp showing all the components and then him talking about how they went and augmented the sytem to be "analogue" even though it has no mechanical connection to the gearbox is pretty immense.
