"David Coulthard believes each Formula One team should be assigned two pit boxes at each Grand Prix in future"

What a great and easy idea. Monaco would have problems but the rest should be ok.

"FIA Race Director Charlie Whiting has suggested that perhaps one solution could be adding some extra time onto the end of qualifying, to allow the drivers who were blocked to have another go"

Two great ideas in ONE day!

Wouldn't the twin pit boxes mean the teams would need two pit crews? I thought they only had one and so would have to set up or recruit a 2nd pit crew which looks a bit silly considering quite the FIA is trying to reduce costs. I'm not against the idea, it makes sense and should have been done ages ago.

Brace yourself..............

Definately not an F1 car.

Off the top of my head it's the original A1GP car from the mid naughties going off the rear wing shape.

Could be an A1GP car, but unless it's been dubbed that's not a Zytek V8 engine sound IMO. Sounds more like 10 cylinders.

Yup. That's A1GP.

Original car not the Ferrari based one. I prefer that one too. Proper race engine not a modified F430 engine. Although, the Ferrari chassis with the Zytek engine would be a great combination.

Most, if not all tracks wouldn't have the space for 26 fully operational pit boxes (I.e. with all the space around them to enter and exit without being blocked). The alternative is 2 stacked next to each other so you drive through both when pitting. That's still going to be a squeeze for most tracks, and will all need double the number of pit crews, all as a knee jerk reaction a situation that only happens very rarely. With pit stops now under 4 seconds the stacking problem is minimal, effectively only affecting team mates within 4 seconds of each other. Even under a safety car, anyone who isn't line a sturn with their team mate is unaffected.

Pointless idea tbh. Other than Mercedes (Hamilton), was anyone else actually held up during the pit stops at Monaco?
