Motorsport Off Topic Thread

Tyre-only stops don't take long enough for it to be an issue, especially with the large number of crew members permitted in an F1 pit. Also, there are no such thing as 4-car teams in F1 (leaving aside STR\Red Bull).

Seems the Formula Renault drivers saw a piece of the GP3/GP2 action and wanted to join in...

It never made sense to be fully based in the US, and 2015 did seem rather optimistic.

All sounding well planned out, I hope they make it to the grid in a competitive form.

This, it was crazy to be based in the US. Let's hope they make it.

Just thought I'd drop this in here, way ahead of time, for anyone who hasn't been to Spa and seen the elevation of Eau Rouge. We visited a couple of weeks ago whilst on a bike tour, and although I knew it was steep I wasn't prepared for just how epic this section of a track really is.

Can't wait to see the 2014 cars wrestle their way through here later this year!

There's even better place to watch them, through the fence as you walk down from the kemmel straight to eau rouge, you get really close to them as well.

Will miss the V8s roaring around there a lot :(

Tbh, there isn't such thing as a 'bad' place to watch from at Spa.

Had a quick look around this place on Wednesday:

Unfortunately I was there on business rather than pleasure so there wasn't time to look about properly, but I still got to see some cool stuff.

They need a bigger facility - even if it's just for the trophies :p

Can't argue with that.

For Qualifying in 2011 I was stood on the Kemmel Straight, got to see Sutil bin it after losing his car at the top of Eau Rouge and then stood at the bottom of Pouhon during the race. Both great places to watch from.

One great thing about the Kemmel Straight though, is the views, where you can see the paddock and la source etc. beautiful place.

Can't wait to go back someday.

Really wanted to go to Austria this year but the missus is heavily pregnant and it'd be a bit lonesome doing a road trip on my own. Definitely going to try and go next year though, again beautiful scenery and F1 cars, doesn't get much better !

Nice! Sparky gave me and Duke a tour of the manufacturing plant last year. The team have definitely out grown the building, there are manufacturing machines crammed in all over the place.

The trophy cabinet is pretty dam impressive though. 3 stories high!

Nice pics Lopez, couldn't help myself but think there should be a trophy of just a hand with an index finger pointing up though :D :p

Random bit of Top Gear maths. If Mercedes 1-2 every race for the foreseeable future they will have the WCC title by the end of round 11 (Hungary).
